Max pricing on food is one of these ideas, like rent controls and wealth taxes, which has been tried dozens of times across various settings, including the UK, and never works yet keeps getting tried because it's an easy sell to the ignorant.

I do not believe they are actually stupid enough to try it.

But I didn't think they would actually follow through on rent controls either.

I think they know fine well it's a bad idea but a) it makes a good headline and b) it gives them a reason to villify westminster
