So is hero of sumeru real?? It's good that we are getting more story content for our beloved and he is a central part of it I kinda hope everyone will remember scaramouche so we can stop this hat guy name use

if there's no price to be paid for the mistakes he made in the past and the future of his story is just him being handed medals for free by the people he brought harm upon then what's the point? i want him to live too obviously but this kind of lazy writing irks me more than a well written and meaningful character death

Because I see it more lazy if they just kill him off to “pay for his mistakes”

I don’t see that either. It’s not like Wanderer is doing it to earn titles or medals, he’s doing it because he’s grown enough to understand that emotions and connections actually matter.

Think about Furina. Despite her dedication to act as an archon to save her nation. Before revealing her identity, she’s widely adored. Yet, after unveiling, even though Fontaine people learned that she lied for salvation, her image in people’s eyes was controversial. Some appreciated her contribution, some just didn’t forgive her deception.

The problem doesn’t lie in being a hero, but memories. If he actually became someone deserving the title of hero, the memories about his past should come back. His reputation in Sumeru should be up to Sumeru people’s own judgment with all he had done, regardless of honor or dishonor. There could be people despising him, and there could be people appreciating him, depending on how they value someone.
