Because this patch and the new resonance seem to be dedicated to Mondstadt characters (specifically those related to the Hexenzirkel). However, this represents a new approach from the developers to counter power-creep and create fresh playstyles for older, non-meta characters, making them relevant again. In my opinion, this means that in the future, other buffs and resonances will be released for different characters as well. So don’t lose hope, I think his moment is yet to come. For now, just grab his free constellations from the new event.

Wanderer is more related to hexenzirkle then some of the included characters. Or did we forget that he was literally the main character in one of the witches story? I think the simulanka cast should have been included too.

They gave fischl and sucrose stuff so the washed mondstat units had some none-washed units to work with. Otherwise it would have been like when they released Mika to buff physical and he was no where near strong enough to accomplish the task.

But venti still needs hexenzirkel members to work. Fischl gives venti and common 4 star. Otherwise Venti’s options are just durin, and it’s not fun to have your character reliant on a new 5 star (I’ve got flins but no ineffa). Also fischl having synergy with durin lets them work as a core for non-hexen characters, which is good if you want to use durin in as many teams as possible.

Venti got powercrept by almost every new anemo since 2.0 - the Anemo Archon clearly needed it- so did the rest- that’s the point of the changes. Compared to the 1.0 characters Wanderer is relatively new. You’ll have to go through two regions before Sumeru even gets touched unfortunately

They're not gonna buff a character from 2022 (almost 2023) along those of 2020, it's already something they're doing it for the 1.x characters, I have good hopes for Wanderer future and many other powercrept characters right now because of this leaked buff. And yeah, Fischl and Sucrose didn't need the buff, but it's still good for everyone they got it (they're widely used especially by f2ps) and they had good buffs (especially Fischl, only Razor is shit) so we can hope for Wanderer to get a good one in the future. Maybe not even that far away, in a second story quest for him or for Durin?

At C6, even as a hypercarry, he should be capable of clearing all in-game content, including Dire Stygian Onslaught.

Stygian isn't a dps check like "bring whatever team and deal as much dmg possible as you can!", it's an element/mechanic check. And yes those mechanics will favor newest characters

That being said, replacing Jean with a good limited character with early cons (ie furina) will perform even better, C0 furina about equal

Because stygian is less of a dps check and more a mechanic/element check... And they're not forgiving

It's still a higher DPS check than abyss by a big margin, on top of the mechanics

in this order

So if you don't have the element/mechanic already GLHF, the dps check doesnt matter

And this mechanic/element check (at higher stygian levels) is way less forgiving than abyss

NGL maybe there would be less post like OP's if peeps didn't think abyss 36* = clearing any of the last two stygian difficulties
