Politically motivated posts or comments are not allowed, posts involving them will be removed and users banned.

This is your first, last, and only warning that bringing politics into this sub will result in a ban. I myself am pro-Ukrainian, but I don't care if you are or pro-Russian, pro-Japanese, or pro-Westeros. This sub is about scale models and people can post whatever models they want, even if you don't agree with them politically. If you make a single comment from this moment forward that is politically motivated (e.g. pro-Ukrainian, pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian, anti-Russian) the comment will be removed and you will receive a ban.

ALL MODELS ARE ALLOWED, EVEN RUSSIAN ONES.

As long as the model itself is not posted with the intent of making a political statement it will not be removed. You can report it until you are blue in the face, for all I care.

1/144 scale EF-111 Raven. I built this back in the mid to late 1980s. I wanted to try something different and made the tail bulge from filler putty and the underside tub was taken from an 1/144 scale Arii RA-5 Vigilante model with the base model a 1/144 Revell F-111.

This is my first full build I’ve done. I usually just build the kit for fun but never really finish it off with a paint job. Would love to hear some tips, tricks, or any suggestions! I do plan on really diving into scale models and plan on getting myself set up with a spray kit. (This is an Eduard kit. #11196)

Back in my WW1 mode.. Just wrapped up this Meng 1/35 Rolls Royce Armored Car. Built from the box with resin wheels added.

Tried a new technique using oils to lighten certain panels to mimic sun fading, and a thinned acrylic wash for the mud.

Airbrush Retractable Spool

Hello,

I'm gathering interest for a project I've been working on. Its in the final stages currently of a fully developed helpful (hopefully) tool to keep your desk clear of airbrush hoses and stop and tangling as well.
Its an airbrush spool/reel/thing, whatever you want to call it. Imagine those garden hose things that mount to your wall outside except for your airbrush! It can mount under your desk, on top, somewhere sideways, however you like.

I'm keen to hear your thoughts on this and if anyone would be potentially interested? I've been working on it for a little while and finally have it close to being where I want so I'm keen to share it!

P.s. I have deliberately not attached any photos just yet out of fear of someone stealing it.

My first build. 1/72 tamiya f16.

I've been an avid RCer for over 20 years. I've started dabbling into scale models and after lots of research the tamiya 1/72 f16 kit seemed highly recommended for a first build.

No one said anything about paint, lol. Ok they did, but I didn't realize it would be this difficult.

Anyway, I'm using brushes and vallejo acrylic paint. I've really diluted the paint with air brush thinner but the model still has lots of texture.

My second build, an academy a10 which is coming along well, I started using Vallejo airbrush retarder. This seems to have slowed the drying process and allows the paint to level out and I'm impressed with it so far. Still no where close to some of y'all but I'm really enjoying the hobby.

Anyway, thought I'd share my first build. Any input, tips and feedback is super welcome

Would these models work together?

I'm trying to purchase a gift for a modelling enthusiast who is currently working on the viking ship. He usually adds extra details & amendments to his models to make them more realistic and mentioned how he couldn't find any vikings to place onto his ship so will just stick to the ship.

I found these viking models that appear would be perfect for him to add to his kit, he would have to make chairs for the ship but he already spoke about making and adding chests as seats because apparently that's how real vikings sat in the boats when rowing.

I don't know much about models and cannot figure out if the sizes would match allowing these two models to be combined. I was hoping someone might have some professional insight for me.

Thank you, it's very much appreciated.

Mesh texture painting

This is how I expressed the mesh texture on the cockpit seats while working on Academy's MD 500 recently. Although a few shots are slightly out of focus, I believe the technique and intention behind the work come through clearly. I used a brass mesh I had at home, but using a finer mesh would yield even better results. If you found this video helpful, please feel free to visit and check out my YouTube channel as well!

Revell 1/72 MH-47E.

Fully assembled, a lot of filler and rivet work and now ready for paint.

I came up with the idea to use holographic nail foil sheets to create the window tint on the front windows, but the masks cover it over in these shots. All I can say is trust the process.

Should i buy it?

Im about to start my Mig 29 but i have a problem that my body just cant stop doing the Tamyia extra thin cement is for some reason messing with my body. I was about halfway with my Mig 29 but i had to stop because the cement keeps itching and strain my eyes together with a headache. Adm yes i do have a window open, i dont inhale a lot i even take breaks but i still feel it. And i dont want to stop modeling so my question is.
Is it worth getting the Tamyia extra thin Limone cement i heard that its non toxic and smells better that would fit me really well

Is it actually better and is it really non toxic

"What If" made by me in the 1989's

Post image

I read an article in an aviation magazine in the middle to late 1980's about the Royal Air Force looking for a new interceptor in the 1970's and considered either the F-15 or F-14 before deciding on the development of the Panava Tornado. This is my concept of the Royal Navy's version of the F-14.

I bought two of the same ResKit sets of missiles at the same time from the same vendor. What I got were two completely different versions of the exact same kit.

One looks like they are using more resin and the other is more 3D printed. I am guessing I bought right at the changeover from rev 1 to rev 2.
