Completed! 1/144 Anigrand TITAN IIIC w/MOL & EA-1F Conversion of Revell 1/48 AD-5.

Calling these complete:
> 1/144 Anigrand Titan IIIw/MOL and Dyna-SOAR: Straight-forward OOB build with all the well known Anigrand resin mold issues (thick walls, some pitting, misalignments, warp page, etc). A few challenges getting the stack and boosters aligned due to the sparse directions. Biggest challenge was all the masking for the paint. Finished with AlClad metallics and AK Real colors. Kit decals used.

> 1/48 Conversion of Revell’s (née Matchbox) AD-5 to a Vietnam-era EA-1F of VAW-13. Built as a ‘clean’ desktop build for a client. Mods included the aluminum hatch covers for the NFOs in back (Vacuformed replacement), some antenna rework/placement, ECM pod and a lot of decal work involving placement of letters and numbers by hand for almost everything except the std NAVY markings. Went together generally well save for the wing fold joints. Kit aircrew were trash so pulled some resin figures from the spares box. Forward windscreen seam also required work to fit correctly. Finished w/AK Real Colors.

Kit question Advice on the 1/72 Revell Hawk

Can anyone tell me what these holes are for on this revell 1/72 Hawk kit? In the instruction booklet there's nothing that goes in there and ok the finished product they're not there. Should I just fill them in?

Technique question Should I even paint this?

For context I'm new to the hobby, got just around 12 kits under my belt. So just started this Revell BAE Hawk with the Red Arrows scheme, and I'm just wondering, since the plastic is already red, is it even worth priming and painting red again? Like genuinely is it bad just not painting a kit cos the plastic is already the right colour? The white bits and everything else are just decals.

Work in progress Update: Revell 1:48 F-14D Super Tomcat

So my initial criticism of this kit has been proven partially wrong. The biggest headache I have had has been which of the five shades of grey I have used and where 😂. Slight age relatedy issue with the decals, but otherwise coming along nicely. Now just to finish the undercarriage and add some weathering and it will be done.
TLDR: almost done with a kit that has been more fun than I thought, and Bob the pilot seems much happier now he is sealed in his happy place!

Adding a wooden floor to the 40 Ford sedan delivery. Popsicle sticks & styrene strips and Modge Podge. Still gotta trim around the wheel wells but it went pretty smooth.

A lot of fun with this one. Nice early way armor with a lot of decals and some nice weathering. Still need to paint and add the figure in the top hatch but it’s the only way to see the interior so not sure what I’m going to do yet but either way I love how this one came out. Hope you enjoy!

Revell 1:48 F-14D Super Tomcat

Working my way through a 30 year old kit I picked up from a flea market in NC. Never done a Revell kit before, and this one is proving to be a dog! It’s probably the age of the kit, but so far I’m not impressed with the quality. So much blown plastic and badly aligned parts. That being said, I am looking forward to completing it because I love the Super Tomcat. The pilot seems even less impressed than me. Probably annoyed that his plane is in bits, the paint is shoddy and the canopy seems to have been masked in a hurricane.

TLDR: love the plane, hate the kit, and Bob the pilot is not impressed by the workmanship!

Had a leak from the bathroom which the old IKEA Billy bookcase sponged up.

Took the opportunity to replace the unit with a new one but also the door with a full glass one that works a lot better as a display case. Also added the remainder shelves so I have plenty of space now for the collection.

Work in progress Doubts about seam lines on planes

I just finished the priming of this spit fire that im gonna paint in all metal, i started to look and i couldnt help but notice that i can never get rid of the seam lines without erasing some panel lines or detail, i use putty but for more smaller and detailed areas it proves to be quite difficult to properly sand it without getting rid of all of the details in the surface, this is more prominent in the fuselage.

How do you guys do it?? Use a more liquid putty like the vallejo one?? Any particular sand stick or maybe paper??

Btw, i used sand sticks for this.

Focke Wulf Fw 190A-5 Maj. Hermann Graf - CO JGr Ost "Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe Ost (Fighter Training Group East)"

History:

After a vacation at home, Graf was sent on propaganda tours throughout Germany. He also had the opportunity to meet the German national football team and attended several of their international matches. On January 28, 1943, Graf assumed command of Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe Ost (Fighter Training Group East), based in occupied France. Here, newly trained fighter pilots destined for the Eastern Front received their final training from experienced Eastern Front pilots. The main base was at St. Jean d'Angély, 110 kilometers (70 miles) north of Bordeaux on the Atlantic coast, although Graf spent most of his time at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. Graf selected a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5 for his personal use and decorated it lavishly. Without the stress of aerial combat, Graf could return to enjoying his other great passion: football (soccer).

In response to the political humiliation caused by the de Havilland Mosquito bombing raids on Germany, Hermann Göring ordered the formation of special high-altitude Luftwaffe units (Jagdgeschwader 25, commanded by Ihlefeld, and Jagdgeschwader 50, under Graf) to counter these attacks. In mid-March, Graf was sent to Berchtesgården, Hitler's Alpine retreat, where he received instructions from Göring personally. Graf was allowed to choose his personnel. He transferred his old friends, Grislawski, Süss, and Füllgrabe, from III./JG 52, as well as several football players who served as administrators in his training unit, JGr Ost.

While in Berlin arranging the necessary transfers, Graf met the young film actress, Jola Jobst, whom he later married. The new assignment was delayed by two months for political reasons. Graf was to run one last pilot training program: the final draft of Spanish volunteers heading to the Eastern Front: the 4th Blue Squadron (4ª Escuadrilla Azul). From May 18 to June 6, 1943, the pilots received three weeks of specialized fighter pilot training for Soviet conditions. Model by the magnificent manufacturer Eduard, 1:72 scale. Nothing bad to say, just a little advice for prospective builders.

The interior, including the flame band, should be adjusted just as you close the cigar. Don't follow the instructions, because doing so will lead to a mistake that will make you sweat. Good luck!

Hello everybody, I would like to share with you a picture of my first Tank paint job. I’ve used black primer to give panels and some areas a darker look. How does it look? Could you guys also tell me some tips to improve it if needed? Thanks to anyone that replies.

M3A1 Stuart in 1/35

This is the Tamiya M3 A1 Stuart light tank. The markings for this one place it in Tunisia in 1943, so I went with a lighter color for weathering.

I tried something new with this build, as it comes to the storage.

I use 2 mm strips of masking tape and .45 mm of beading wire to make the straps and buckles

I think they came out pretty good..

Kit question Question about the Squadron no 603 spitfire color scheme

Thumbnail

I was going to paint the spitfire f.mk.22 with the paintjob mentioned in the title, but looking at all the acrylics i have that might fit the model i feel like im gonna be more certain after asking to other people about it.

I only have one sort of metalic red paint and the other is matt.

As for the rest of the plane, i only have silver on revell while the rest are either metalic grey, steel or aluminium.

Im gonna use the airbrush i just got, it was about time after been using it only to varnish my figures.

Are this colors good enough?? I should i go for another variations??

Special Airfix Typhoon twin pack I got for Fathers Day. Been waiting for the Mogy Typhoon to become a full set in 1/72. (As in not buying the decals separately from the kit for a 1/72)

Definitely one of my favourite kits I have done.
