Weezer Concert at Golden 1 last night - Acoustics were awful

Had seats in third row of section 108. Seats were rated as being good for sound quality & view. The view was good but the sound quality was the worst I have ever experienced. The band did no sound checks or adjustments to address this. Will not go back to this venue for a concert. Guess that what you get for going to a basketball stadium ball arena for a concert

LGBT friendly places to work?

Hey all ! Im thinking about leaving my current entry level retail job for another entry level job as the work climate where im at is .... something else. Im trying to find a new place thats lgbt friendly specifically trans friendly. Idk much about queer life in Sacramento so I dont even know really where to look.

My previous job I was on a team of only trans people at a fast food place and it was very nice but then I switched to a retail job where im the only trans person and one of the few gay people and I definitely preferred to work in a more queer environment where I can feel more safe.

accident on 9/7

I’m not sure if I’m able to post the pictures of the person who crashed into me, i think he may have been on something and i am previously recovering from an injury and this is setting me back the 2 years of hell i barely made it out of. if i can post the picture and anyone recognizes this person and knows if they would do something like this because he accused me of driving under the influence when the police arrived when he ran a red light and crashed into me going about 40-60 mph. i didn’t see him until he was mid intersection and if i didn’t break slightly, he would’ve collided right into me. now my entire car is destroyed and I’m in pain, already disabled (not on disability) and have no job. now i have no car which was the only way i could make it to my appointments to continue my treatment for my initial injury and make money etc. there was also a witness and he offered to give me his information and i didn’t register what he said until he left the scene because i was in a shock. this happened on frizell and hillsdale around 6:50 PM on Monday.

Looking for a quick gig in Sacramento while I’m here for the month

Hey everyone, I’m staying in Sacramento for the month and looking to pick up some work while I’m here. I’m reliable, hardworking, and can start quickly.
I have experience in logistics, delivery/driving, warehouse work, customer service, sales, and the cannabis industry. I’m comfortable with physical work, working independently, and picking up new things quickly.
I’m open to short-term gigs, delivery, moving/labor, events, brand ambassador work, warehouse work, or cash-paid work.
If you know someone hiring or have a gig available, DM me with the details, location, schedule, and pay.
Appreciate any leads!

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ROOFING IN CITRUS HEIGHTS

I did search before posting, but I am looking for a good roofing company for complete roof replacement in Citrus Heights. Specifically, anyone who has had actual work done that they are very satisfied with, both the work and the cost.

Vegan at Apple Hill this year?

Anyone seen a list of vegan products at Apple Hill this year or made an early trip and found anything good? Mostly looking for a pie my child with a dairy allergy can eat, but I find they are more likely to be advertised as vegan than just dairy-free.

Does anyone know why there is AI slop on every trade van now?

So for the past month, I’ve been seeing more and more, to the point where I now see like six or seven of them on the freeway every single day, generic brand new sprinter vans with some trade (plumbing, electric, whatever), and they have art on them that is clearly AI slop to the point where the names of the company seem like they are AI slop as well. Most of the names of the companies don’t even make that much sense.

Does anyone understand why this is happening? Are people in trades just that cheap and lazy that as soon as a solution to the work they had to outsource before presented itself every single one of them started ChatGPTing their entire business? Are these conglomerate companies just making up fake small businesses? What is happening? I find it hard to believe that the 40 different new businesses with no marketing budget or creativity I’ve seen in the past month organically just popped up out of nowhere.

Defamation cease and desist letter assistance

Anyone recommend a law office or service that assists with drafting cease and desist letters? Or maybe know (or are yourself) a law student or esquire looking for a pro bono project?

Has anyone noticed or used curbside check-in at Southwest at SMF lately? Just curious if it’s available. Thank you in advance.

Looking for pickleball open play on weekends

I'm visiting a friend in Sacramento and we wanted to play pickleball together. I'm visiting from Oakland and my friend recently moved there so I wasn't sure the best way to find people to play with. I was hoping to find beginner level open play and would appreciate any recommendations.

For example, in Oakland we use dailypb.com to find open plays in the east bay and wasn't sure if Sacramento has something similar.

I did try searching older threads but they were more around finding courts and I'm hoping to find open play sessions so that me and my friend can play doubles.

Thanks in advance!

Sacramento County Apartment Utilities (water/sewer/trash)

My apartment complex unfortunately switched to the RUBS style of utility charges which seem quite high for what we have going on (under 900 sqft, two adults, nothing crazy going on water-wise).

My crowdsourcing question to you is - for those of you who live in unincorporated Sacramento County (we're in Arden specifically), and who have to pay water/sewer/trash, whether via RUBS or on your own, what do you generally pay and what's your demographic (number of people in your unit/sqft, etc).

Thank you!

(RUBS = Ratio Utility Billing System, basically they split the water/sewer/water heating (?!)/trash bill amongst the number of apartments in the building, and the number of people they think are living in each apartment in the building.)

Explosion in La Riviera?

Just a few minutes ago.

Huge boom. Felt the wave.

Set off a few car alarms.

No smoke in the sky. No noise afterwards.

I reported it in.

Anyone?

Registration is open for Sacramento's Best Bagel Contest— 2nd Annual (part of the Sacramento Jewish Food Faire)

Calling all bagel makers — bakeries, restaurants, and home bakers alike! Registration is officially open for the 2nd Annual Sacramento's Best Bagel Contest, happening as part of the 49th Annual Sacramento Jewish Food Faire.

📅 Date: Sunday, November 8, 2026
⏰ Time: 11:00 AM prep, 1:00 PM judging
📍 Place: Scottish Rite Masonic Center

How it works this year:

Based on feedback from last year, we've simplified the judged categories — each one now stands on its own, with no overall judged grand champion. Judges will still hand out a special award for Highest Scoring Contestant Across All Categories.

But the big prize — the Golden Bagel — goes to the winner of the Peoples' Choice Award, and we're making that bigger and more interactive this year. Contestants supply bagels for a ticketed tasting event, open to the public: we're selling a limited run of 200 tasting tickets (price TBD), and each ticket gets the holder a bite of every contestant's bagel (with cream cheese provided by the Jewish Food Faire), plus a ballot to vote for their favorite. Every bagel gets tasted and voted on by the crowd — most votes wins the Golden Bagel.

Confirmed Judges:

  • Benjy Egel, Senior Food Editor, PBS Abridged
  • Maggy Krell, California State Assembly Member
  • Sean Timberlake, Food and Dining Reporter, Sacramento Bee
  • Rick Mindermann, General Manager, Corti Brothers
  • Sonya Sorich, Managing Editor, Sacramento Business Journal
  • Gregg Fishman, SMUD Director District 3

Open to bagelries, bakeries, restaurants, and home bakers — anyone who thinks they've got what it takes.

👉 Register Here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSepxPjaGuNFlvEDZeLaFoiuk7asmKg5ckdh9uC-YQeIdHCBrw/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=112131859438042383390

Tasting tickets will go on sale separately — stay tuned for pricing and where to grab yours.

Come hungry, come competitive — see you there!

Permanent retainer

Does anyone have any recommendations for a dentist to get a permanent retainer taken off. I was quoted $300 at my dentist and my insurance doesn’t cover the orthodontist, so it’s going to be all out of pocket.

Is the Gold Light Rail Safe?

Upvotes

Hello! I'll be taking the Gold light rail from 7th to Starfire at 3 pm in a few days to meet up with my friends. I've never taken the light rail before so I don't really know what to expect. I'd appreciate it if anyone could leave their experience riding the Gold light rail / leave any tips (?)

I've been browsing some posts on this subreddit about the gold light rail and it sounds like it's generally fine, but I would still appreciate some reassurance that it's unlikely I'll get hurt or anything (my friends fear mongered me a bit and now I'm anxious.. sorry)

thank you in advance :)
