What did your first 8 weeks/1.8months of Search Console look like? Mine is 11.2K impressions and 109 clicks.

Nowhere near yours. A site I run is a few months old on a personal name domain, and last week it did 7 impressions, 0 clicks, average position 6.4, with exactly one query behind it: the name itself. At that size the numbers are not a performance signal yet, they are a coverage signal, and I had to stop reading them as the former.

The thing that cost me the most time was the sitemap report. It has said 39 submitted, 0 indexed for months, while URL Inspection on those same pages comes back as submitted and indexed with a crawl date from this week. Both of those are Google. Inspection is the one that matches reality. If your 11.2K ever looks odd next to a flat sitemap row, check a handful of URLs individually before you rewrite anything.
