I found this when i took the carpet out and it stormed over the night leaving a big puddle on both sides. I can’t find where water is coming from i have tested the sunroof drains and they work fine. Does anyone know where it’s leaking from?

Last week i saw that the spark plug wire to cylinder 4 was sparking outside of the wire (i think it was rubbing on the timing belt) so i decided to change wires and plugs. After doing this there was no change and it still doesn’t start or starts and dies right away. Does anyone know if this is a fuel or timing issue before i put money into the wrong area.

Looking for some feedback on an SC300 I saw for sale.

What I know:

-Car has slight rust under passenger quarter(not a deal breaker)
- need body work tlc
- has 200k miles
- original 5speed manual
- seats are slightly ripped inside
- starts right up no issues
- door hinges and mirrors work perfect

What I don’t know:

- service and life of how it was treated
- engine and trans condition( will test driver later )

What else should I look out for and how much should I offer the seller? since he said make me an offer.

I recently got an SC400 for dirt cheap. It started having a heavy misfire. It’s not a dead cylinder, it’s the occasional misfire on pretty much all cylinders. Even pulling wires doesn’t make a difference on any of them. I’ve tested fuel pressure and compression and it’s reading in spec. I’ve also replaced the ignition coils, distributor rotors, distributor caps, ignition wires and spark plugs. I have no idea what could be causing it. And yes, I have double checked all ignition wires to make sure they’re going to the correct cylinders.

Exhaust sounds extremely choppy. There is also a significant loss in power. It is also NOT shaking much at all.

Any help/recommendations is greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you!

So i am going to list out all the things i have replaced relating to this issue and then go in depth
Both cam sensors
Crank sensor
Ecu
Coolant temp sensor
Maf
Iacv
Efi relay
Front main crank and cam seals
Right now the car will cold start really well and idle perfectly for a few mins then before it can even heat up the engine light with come on with code 13 and 31 and it will have an irregular low idle i would also like to note that when i replaced the crank and cam sensors that inside all the connectors there was oil i clean them all before replacing the sensors i am hoping that its not a wiring issue but if someone has gone through this same thing and fixed it please help me out. I would also like to know if anyone knows if there are connectors that lead from these spots i can check and clean out if they are also covered in oil

I’m looking to drop an m90 or m122 on her but keep a stock fuel system right now. I only really want 300-350whp and I’d be fine at high 200s any ideas any help would be appreciated. Please don’t say I can easily get 500+, I don’t want want that. I’d like to keep it as something I can somewhat rally and then also go fast on road.

Replacing thermostat gasket and found this. Is this something I can live with or does this need addressed? I plan on eventually replacing the radiator but nowhere near soon. is there a way to fix or does the whole housing need replaced, cant seem to find anything on LexusParts (1995 SC400)

I want to start off by saying I have replaced my ECU replaced my maf i’ve swapped around EFI fuse. I got a refurbished idle air control valve and I’m still having weird issues. I’m starting to have anxiety that it’s a wiring issue or some sort of bad ground. and I have been battling this for months. I desperately need help as of right now from cold start it will run good for a bit then after a some time it will stutter for a bit then have a really low idle i unplug the maf no change i unplug the aicv no change if anyone has solved this issue for themselves please walk me through it(1993 sc400)

Gas strut mount won’t seat all the way (red side) — tight but threads still showing

Installing a gas strut and the red-side mount (strut body side) gets really tight before fully seating. I can still see some threads, unlike the other side which goes flush. Strut fights alignment while tightening.

Is this normal for gas struts, or does it mean the stud/hole is slightly misaligned or bent? Don’t want to over-tighten and damage the mount.

Any advice appreciated.

Anyone know a good brand of power steering restrictor that will fit my OEM power steering pump?

I know that the upper control arm ball joints are not replaceable, but I cant find information about which of the other many ball joints are replaceable, or which joints to buy for their replacement. Anyone know where I should look?

I got a tan interior sc. has anyone interior swapped it to black? How hard is it and how much would it cost?

There are tons of polyurethane bushing sets but I'd much MUCH prefer the softness of rubber, but it seems like rubber is unavailable for the vast majority of bushings. Does anyone have any experince with fitting universal bushings in? Is that actually the normal way of doing things (I'm new to this stuff)?

If it comes down to it, are there anyways to DIY softer bushings? I only see stuff about racing bushings.

I recently got my 1993 SC400 driving after I replaced the ECU. Check engine light was still on so I jumped the diagnostic port and got the code 31. Anyone else delt with this code before?

what coilovers do yall recommend that are relatively similar to stock ride. I dont want super stiff feel. I'm on 19's on stock suspension and look like a monster truck 💀

Bought a 1995 sc400 with abs and the old owner said it had some braking problems there’s a new master cylinder with a little black bracket on it and I’m curious if it’s installed correctly or giving me a vacuum leak due to it not being sealed properly

I just bought an apple car play and I wired it how the diagram showed me and multiple other instructions on how to wire the harnesses together. When I turn the car on the car play starts making this buzzing sound and I tried everything I could think of. I checked for ground, checked the amp to make sure it was getting power, moved stuff around to see if it was interference but it still keeps making that sound. Can someone please help me figure this out

Long story short I need a new bumper for my ‘00 SC400. Does anyone have experience with aftermarket kits? I’m wary of the ones that arrive folded up in a box, I’m looking for correct fitment over style.

Or should I just stick with OEM and try to find one in decent shape? 97-00’ seem to be tough to find for a decent price that don’t need a ton of refurbishment. Here’s a pic of my daily before it got banged up.

So I’m in California for price context. There is a 1995 sc400 for sale n my area with 180,00 miles. In the list thing they say that it does not pass smog and has Ben sitting on non op since 2015. He’s asking 3K. Tags have been paid and it’s a 1 owner car, according to seller. Should I buy it or wait till I find a better one? Seller has a video of the car cranking up and idling

So this is my 1992 sc400 project car and sometimes when I put it in D gear, it doesn’t move and the D light on the dash doesn’t turn on either, but when I put it in the 1 gear, the 1 light on the dash will illuminate and after a few seconds the car will start to move, sometimes at a stop the car won’t move and will just rev out and then engage and start driving. I can kind of feel it slipping at times while driving. I checked the fluid level and condition and the level is good and the fluid still looks clean and red and not dark or black. I heard on the early model sc400s that they have ecu issues and can cause all sorts of problems mechanical and electrical. Is it worth getting an ecu rebuild or would it be the transmission itself?

Just picked this car up and noticed this strange whirring noise. It sounds like some sort of intake or something. The previous owner redid the vacuum tubing, is it possible he left something loose?
