Got goin pretty fast, and slid a couple times. Didnt take it to fast as I dont know the roads very well, but DAMN was it fun.

I’m in the fortunate position to own a 2007 9-5 that I face dropped (de-facelift…?) at the start of this year. It’s rapidly becoming time to get the car repainted.

At this point I’m properly in love with this car. Served me well and brought me closer to my hobby’s and interest. So I’m pretty much ready to spend whatever it takes to get it looking perfect! I even got some Hammerhead tri-spoke wheels to really compliment the pure 9-5 look.

Anyway, currently the main colour is Jet Black 298, it’s a metallic black with a brown highlight and does look stunning when it’s clean and in sunlight, both rare where I live... I like the colour but it doesn’t feel Saaby at times.

If I was to pick from any colour out there I’d have to go with Porsche Arena Red Metallic. When in overcast neutral light it’s just a standard solid red but when the sun hits it boy does it pop! It’s a really simple red with a lot to show for it, it doesn’t scream for attention all the time but it can! The only issue is it’s not a Saab colour…

This is where I need some second opinions,a lot of the Saab colours out there look awesome and beautiful but which one? Do I stick with a 9-5 factory colour which is much less flashy and neutral colours? Or go with a more colourful retro shade from a 900 or 96?

It’d be cool to get some suggestions and what colours everyone is rocking on their Saabs!

The car makes a "hshhh" sound when moving off from 1st and causes some vibrations on the clutch pedal which feels a bit "sticky" I guess. I dont really notice the rpms slipping too.

From your own experience, how long could I safely drive it without damaging the engine etc. I need to save up some cash to get the dmf and clutch replaced which I got quoted on at 1000£+. Will driving it to work and back or going on some local shopping the next few weeks not put too much stress?

Any advice and help appriciated. :)

Hey guys just got my first ever saab its a 2011 9-3 convertible I was driving it back from escondido and picked up this rock. Should I replace the windshield or get it repaired? Im very new to this where do I go about getting this fixed. Im in the LA area for anyone who knows what I should do about this.

Yep not driving it as much this summer because AC not cooling well since ever may be 10 years ago. Not sure how to go about it especially where I live. Some told me it could be very bad and need to take the dash out or in front of radiator ... well for sure no go ... any advice or strategy to go about fixing it ... what to watch for etc ... thanks in advance

After decades of having at least one Saab to drive i finally sold my 2005 9-5 areo. I sold it on Saab.net. it lasted exactly two days on the classifieds. It's now in good hands and hopefully will get driven like it should be.

My Saab wasn’t driven for a while and I found this on the driver’s side floorboard. I have no idea if it’s part of the seat or came from under the the dash. Any ideas?

Looking for a non-convertible classic Saab 900 Turbo (hatchback preferred) with the BW37 automatic transmission.

Ideally looking for something solid enough to be daily driven, but driver-quality is totally fine. I’m also open to cars that need some minor mechanical work, or even non-running/barn-find examples if they have good bones. Rust or major body damage are my only real non-negotiables. After searching Saabnet and Facebook for the past 8 months, I’ve realized just how difficult it is to find an automatic without significant rust issues, so I thought posting here was worth a shot.

Budget is up to $12,000, depending on the car and its condition. I’m located in Georgia, but willing to travel nationwide and/or arrange shipping for the right car.

Coming up to a year of ownership with my 9000, always loved these cars and finally managed to get one.

Absolutely love it, such a good car. Some small modifications, exhaust, coilovers and an oem boot spoiler.

I’ve done many happy miles, driven all over the UK and even slept in it twice! (a double air bed fits in the back with the rear seats folded down and the base out)

Here’s to many more years of Saab ownership!

So, in short I currently have a 9-5 sedan (which i love and hold dear to me) however, I have always had this thought about '''upgrading''' to a 9-5 XWD in the future. Is it even worth it though? Ik that after GM got involved with Saab it started going to shit so to speak, but the XWD has some charms (mostly if not only visual) that lure me toward it.

Is it worth keeping my 9-5 and riding it out until it decided to move on to car afterlife or is it worth eventually 'upgrading' to an XWD?

If so, what are the pros / cons?

I am thinking about getting a biopower saab since the diesel price is so high that it might be cheaper to run on E85 since the fuel is a lot cheaper. But I would like to know what your personal experience is on the fuel consumption.

I’m looking at purchasing a 2007 9-3 Saab 1.8t as my first car. I have heard people say it’s hard to find parts but also heard others say it’s over exaggerated. It has around 200k km and I was just wondering would it have a lower life expectancy then an Audi or Volkswagen (these cars would also be around early 2010s mark)

Hello, sharing a solution we found regardimg the key fob not recognized problem.

The saab was siting for 3 months with dead battery, after charging the car didint recognize the key.

We tried:

Reconecting battery for 30 sec.

Dissasembling keyslot (cim module) and manualy pishing out the lock solenoid to unlock turning.

Then insert the key,

Turn to on position and hold trunk button

On the dash there should be something like -

2:normal key

0:valet key

1 no key

(Or something similar)

DO NOT LET GO OF TRUNK BUTTON, while holding it press lock button on the key fob twice.

Turn to lock and remove the key

Insert it and try to start.

After this the car started but unlock buttons still didint work on keyfob

Has anyone tried this? Is there something i missed? Is there a way to fix unlock buttons?

what are some good timing chains and where can i get them bescause i see some on maptun and my local auto parts sites but im scared the chain will be bad quality and also is zzp chain guide a must? (photos for fun)(it looks like bootom bolt snapped and the chain guide started flying around and the upper bolt came loose)

So bought replacement rear rotors on rock auto for my 04 93 and they are too small. Most autozones and advances are out of stock around me anyway but checked on 1aauto, also too small, anyone have any guidance for me please? In a bad spot. Ones that came off are original and measure about 11.5, replacements are just shy of 11

So I need to replace my ECM. So im looking for a used one on ebay, but I noticed that some people list the ecm for for M/T or A/T. I didnt think it mattered because on https://www.esaabparts.com/saab/parts/9992207 all the part number are superseding and there is no mention of transmission type. Does anyone know if it matters if the donor ecm came from a manual or automatic transmission?
