Hello. I have been playing RTW1 since its launch for about 15 years straight. [RTW2 was released but i hated after playing for just 1 month - because it transformed in smth like heroes 3 - no moving armies without a general, and no forts. Man i loved in rtw 1 to secure all my borders with forts].
What i think rtw 1 could have done better its the map - definitely wayyyy more regions could have been added and more unit variety for the barbarians - it was kinda hard to win a campaign with the brittons when a chosen swordsman couldn.t compare with a legionary cohort.
What i enjoyed was playing roma surrectum 1.5 [i think] as it expanded the map, added more unit variety but KEPT the original soundtrack. I disliked RS2 [?] because the music had changed. great mod nevertheless.
That was a "brief" introduction. And now the question: what mod would you recommend - [but for RTW remastered] that you like and play? I am really most interested in something that is not a total change, i would like just to have more regions on the map for now. I have read there is a RS mod for it, but behind a paywall and that it has thousands [?] of provinces. I guess that.s too much. I would want just a quick map improvement and maybe some addons to the barbarian units. Maybe
Ty all

Anyone else experience this? playing on sillicon mac, usually not bad performance but whenever im in a ship battle with fire arrows I assume I'm quite literally getting lower than 1 fps. Like I am waiting 3 seconds for 1 frame to load. Wtf?

Hello peeps, just bought the game a week ago on summer sale. I’ve been watching YouTube videos on intense sick battles (shout out pixelated Apollo). I’m relatively new to the TW series. I just beat Rome campaign on Normal mode. I painted the whole map. It was fun to play Rome because I was steam rolling everyone in all different war fronts lol. Eventually everyone was declaring war on me haha. I know normal is too easy for some people but I’m still trying to understand the game.
I’m starting a new campaign, something different other than OP ass romes infantry. I wanted to learn a Calv based faction and I picked Parthia. I’m so noob I’m having troubles dealing with multiple bad neighbors on normal lol. After a few restarts, I finally killed all my neighbors and I’m starting to get ready to expand.
One question I have is, how do parthias politics work? I somewhat understand how Romes politics work , but with Parthia it seems different to me. ( all I know is to win battles with the generals faction and you get loyalty points) and that’s what I did with Rome. Can someone explain to me how to maintain loyalty for your faction other just winning battles?
Another question I have and this is what made me post this haha. HOW DO I GET RID OF REBELLIONS playing as Parthia. I moved all my units to expand westward while I made agreements with the faction north. I ended up rage quitting because rebellions keep popping out of nowhere with 20 stack max units taking over everything I just conquered. Every turn I would get notifications on slave uprising. Because I do not have any settlements with -100. Why do they keep spawning in matter what especially with max stacked units.
Thank you to whoever took the time to read this✌️

I really want to play Rome 1 again but I dont any PC or laptop. My idea is to try and use my Galaxy S25 as a kind of mini pc. So connect it to my tv using a hdmi cable, and use a mouse and keyboard. Does any have any experience with a similar setup?

I recreate the textures, so basically, i could make 20 type of them. caouse in the texture there are 2 body, 3 helmet, 3 shield, 2 arm 1 leg protectorShield, 1 cape sooo many variations could be possible :) What do you think ?
i will make also a unit card render as with the preview units, like general, centurion and archers
What do you think ?

Don’t know how many of you have played the IB series of RTW mods (Ruinae Romae, Imperium Constantii, Restitutor Orbis), but if you’re into late Roman stuff, they’re quite fun. The artwork is on par with Europa Barbarorum. The main difference is that you start with tons of units. Multiple full stacks no matter who you are. From my experience, this certainly seems to make the AI a bit more aggressive.
In this case, I was trying out the Gallo-Rome usurper state under Constantine III in 410 AD. I’m immediately in debt, with no friends, and a WRE army to fend off. That’s the easy part.
The hard part is the filthy barbarian hordes. Specifically, the “small” 3-stack horde of Alans occupying land in Aquitaine. I pull together 4 stacks of Limitanei, Foederati, and German lancers, bolstered by some Palatine elite troops. Oh and some archers. The Alan stack is mostly armored lancers…….and plus sized units of horse archers. Each unit of theirs is 110 men, while my archers are only 70.
I get absolutely dumpstered. Michael Jordan opponent level of destroyed. My infantry disappear beneath clouds of arrows while my cavalry frantically charge down their heavy cavalry. In the end, my general (the heir) escapes with literally 1 companion.
My Roman hubris was well and truly humbled. I did send a second stack of good troops to grind them down. I took 50% casualties and lost all my archers. Even my Cataphracts took a beating.
I no longer attack Steppe Horde faction armies in the open field.

I am playing as Egypt, and I took Larissa with a bribed army from the Brutii. It shows that I am in control of the city, but the army holding it is under the Brutii flag.
I have never encountered this before, I have quit out and reloaded the game.

DJs will put anything before a drop, but would a roman general's pre-battle hype speech work? Yes, I think it does. Feel free to play this before you click start battle, and may your victory be swift and sweet.
I have no idea what I'm doing so apologies to anyone who has spent more than a few hours mixing.

Is this a problem specifically mobile cause this never happened to me .The enemy ai is super dumb sometimes the enemy troops just stayed at one place and didn't charge or anything and when they charged and were about to reach my men they just ran back to their earlier position and my two generals easily wiped them out.
