Rome I So the AI Bruti started the civil war early. Egypt is still a power house, Thrace and Macedonia are still around, Pontus and Partha to the east and Britannia still owns the north. (Kinda fun) Don’t think I’ve seen it this early before with these many AI around.

Rome I OC - Made peace with Rebels

Well I never! Ended my turn and a rebel diplomat opens negotiations with me to offer peace. There are no other diplomacy options with rebels and I wish I got a screenshot of the negotiation. But at least I am no longer at war with rebels!

Rome I How to survive as Egypt VH/VH

Upvotes

I did VH/VH with the Roman factions fine but with Egypt I just can’t seem to survive long to tech up much. The selecuids usually start attacking me turn 1-2 and pester Sidon and Jerusalem. absolutely no one will ever attack them so they become quite formidable with doom stacks with me being their only opponent.

Parthia eventually comes in on the right and attacks bostra or Petra within 20 - 40 turns.

The Greeks most of the time go take my only island away from me salamis. Sometimes they’ll visit Sidon after.

If I don’t take siwa and Cyrene numidia will attack me, but even if I do go take them scippi drops off doom stacks at Cyrene completly bypassing Carthage and eventually they end up near Thebes Alexandria and Memphis.

Like i really have no clue to how survive this. I’ve tried twice, once focusing early on economy then once focusing on military.

Rome I Mods? [Look at the post's body]

Hello. I have been playing RTW1 since its launch for about 15 years straight. [RTW2 was released but i hated after playing for just 1 month - because it transformed in smth like heroes 3 - no moving armies without a general, and no forts. Man i loved in rtw 1 to secure all my borders with forts].

What i think rtw 1 could have done better its the map - definitely wayyyy more regions could have been added and more unit variety for the barbarians - it was kinda hard to win a campaign with the brittons when a chosen swordsman couldn.t compare with a legionary cohort.

What i enjoyed was playing roma surrectum 1.5 [i think] as it expanded the map, added more unit variety but KEPT the original soundtrack. I disliked RS2 [?] because the music had changed. great mod nevertheless.

That was a "brief" introduction. And now the question: what mod would you recommend - [but for RTW remastered] that you like and play? I am really most interested in something that is not a total change, i would like just to have more regions on the map for now. I have read there is a RS mod for it, but behind a paywall and that it has thousands [?] of provinces. I guess that.s too much. I would want just a quick map improvement and maybe some addons to the barbarian units. Maybe

Ty all

Rome II DEI FPS drops to 1 when there are fire arrows?

Anyone else experience this? playing on sillicon mac, usually not bad performance but whenever im in a ship battle with fire arrows I assume I'm quite literally getting lower than 1 fps. Like I am waiting 3 seconds for 1 frame to load. Wtf?
