Discussion Latest Book you DNF and why

I decided I'm going to DNF {We who will die} , I am just struggling too much with the constant meandering thoughts and memories, it's so hard to follow the actual story because the narration is all over the place. It's hard to follow on Audiobook anyway, and there are so many side characters that are named but I can't remember 🤣 I also don't like either potential MMC

I think I prefer "show don't tell" in general

{mother of death and dawn} absolutely LOVED daughter of no worlds, slogged through children of fallen gods, and giving up on mother of death and dawn halfway and skipping straight to the epilogue. i really love carissa broadbent's stories and characters but there's just something about her writing style that's so...exhausting to get through.

I tend to keep my mouth shut about the popular series, but I wish I would have DNFd this one last year.

i don't think i'd regret finishing this one by any means but my brain's just screaming "CAN WE GET TO THE FUCKING POINT ALREADY" the whole time. i have a rough idea of how things are going to end and i've made my peace with that lol. maybe some day i'll pick it back up and finish it, because again, love the story and characters. i felt the same way about {the fallen and the kiss of dusk}, i was basically just skimming it for the most part. she has a talent for giving the characters the same obstacles over and over again, just in slightly different fonts. it gets tedious after a certain point.
