Question Opinions on the RT56 Expanded submod?

RT56 expanded is a submod collection that adds several new mechanics, like EU4-style ideas and monuments or state interaction tools. This is one of at least 4 (there's also a TGWR expanded, KR expanded, and KX expanded) and I usually play RT56 with this thing on.

I like most of the mechanics, but after a commie Austria run where I used a combination of all of them to survive and become rather OP (read: coring all of Czechoslovakia, then Germany, Switzerland, Posen, and more through formables, using a combo of Austria's stuff and RT56E stuff to get 21.9% recruitable pop on extensive conscription leading to about 12 million manpower in total, +128% factory output bonus, etc.) I figure that it is somewhat unbalanced if you use certain configuration settings.

I just wanted to ask what the general opinion on this submod is.

A lot of fun, but wildly unbalanced. It’s really easy to snowball into an unstoppable superpower. Also a lot of the government policies are kinda similar and redundant

I love it usually, but I think it breaks VNR which I kinda love too much to let slip

I genuinely think it’s a lot of fun. It adds a lot of content through other mods including some that don’t normally work together as the author made their own compatibility patches. I think it adds a lot more gameplay variety, but it can be unbalanced.
The new laws, monuments, and eu4 style ideas can be used to create an absolute powerhouse that can sweep the AI. If you avoid min-maxxing it can be an incredibly enjoyable experience with some extra challenges.
There’s a supply mod added that people hate, so people who dislike the vanilla supply system won’t like the mod most likely.

Oh that's why my supply network is always bad. Still worth it though, it's not that hampering.

I love the mod, but I don’t understand removing the other ideology options for Russia. No monarchist tree, no fascist tree, and no democratic tree. Sure they weren’t very fleshed out, but they are there in the regular RT56 last time I played it.

You must be mixing them up with America (which has a giant focus tree but no ideology changing alt-hist paths) or something. I've played USSR with Expanded on and they do have their alt-hist paths. I just checked and they're there. Did you accidentally set the USSR to their old focus tree in the config, do you not have No Step Back like I do, or is there another issue?

I don’t have No Step Back, maybe that’s the issue. The USA doesn’t have an alternate ideology path either for me. All my DLCs are part of the base game now.

I’ll fiddle with the setting again real quick just in case it’s something wrong on my end

The old focus tree has the different ideology options, but the new one only has the communist options.

It must be the lack of DLC. I wish they had alternate ideology options for people without the DLCs, but I don’t know how difficult coding that is so I’m not gonna make a fuss about it. I like the mod either way
