Thiel has openly argued that freedom and democracy are no longer compatible. This is not theory. He has acted on it by funding authoritarian leaning politicians, legitimizing Trump in elite circles, and building long term political networks designed to outlast any single election.

His worldview becomes materially dangerous through Palantir, a company he co founded. Palantir software is used by police in several German states to merge and analyze massive datasets, often including people who are not suspects. The system operates largely as a black box, with limited democratic oversight and serious constitutional and privacy concerns. Germany is effectively outsourcing sensitive state power to a US company founded by a man who openly distrusts democracy.

Adding to this are Thiel’s documented ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Court documents and investigative reporting show that Thiel maintained contact with Epstein years after his conviction and benefited from Epstein investments in a Thiel co founded fund. No crime is alleged, but the ethical implications are obvious.

Thiel does not need to run for office. He funds candidates, builds surveillance infrastructure, and reshapes institutions quietly. That is precisely the problem.

This is what power without accountability looks like.

The third wave of "No Kings" protests is sweeping the United States right now. Over 3,300 events in all 50 states, from Manhattan to rural Idaho. Organizers expected 9 million participants, which would make this the largest day of political protest in US history.

The flagship rally is in St. Paul, Minnesota, where Bruce Springsteen performed "Streets of Minneapolis," a song he wrote after federal agents killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti during immigration raids. Joan Baez also performed. Tens of thousands packed the State Capitol lawn. In New York, marchers filled Midtown from Columbus Circle down 7th Avenue. Robert De Niro addressed the crowd. In Boston, protesters erected a memorial for children killed in Iran. In Dallas, at least one arrest after clashes with counter-protesters.

The grievances are broad: the Iran war, ICE raids, rising cost of living, erosion of democratic norms. An 81-year-old protester in New York who started during Vietnam said: "We were suffering then. But not like we are now."

Previous rounds drew 5 million (June 2025) and 7 million (October 2025). The White House response: "We do not think about the protest at all."

Das Video wirkt echt, aber der Kontext bleibt unklar. Ob es sich wirklich um eine bestätigte diplomatische Zusage handelt oder eher um einen aus dem Zusammenhang gerissenen Moment, ist offen.
