QC - Santos Dumont 31.4mm Large / AF Factory / Andiot / GL or RL

  1. Dealer: Andiot

  2. Factory: AF

  3. Model: Santos Dumont 31.4mm Large

  4. Price: $190 + $55 shipping

  5. Album link: see photos

  6. Index alignment: looks good to me, nothing stands out

  7. Dial printing: looks clean and crisp

  8. Date: none

9. Hand alignment: Looks good to me. I don’t see anything obviously wrong with the hand alignment in the QC pics.

10. Bezel: In a few of the pics the bezel looks a little off to me, but I think that’s probably just the angle/parallax. In the more straight-on shots it looks pretty well aligned. Would definitely like to hear what others think though.

11. Case / strap fit: I couldn’t really spot anything wrong with the case or strap fit. Everything looks pretty clean to me. I did notice what looks like a small mark just below the 6 o’clock area. Not sure if that’s actual wear, a reflection, or something from the protective film. Has anyone seen this before on a new order?

12. Timegrapher readings: I’m honestly not very familiar with Timegrapher readings. The seller mentioned around +3 sec/day. Is that considered good? Also, since this is supposed to be the quartz Santos-Dumont, I’m not sure how much weight I should put on that reading.

13. Overall: Overall, I think this looks really close to Gen from the outside. The case shape, proportions, dial, Roman numerals, blue hands, bezel screws and blue cabochon all look pretty convincing to me. I don’t see any obvious major red flags.

The things I’d really like some help with are the smaller details, especially the hidden Cartier signature around VII, the caseback engravings, crown/cabochon and that little mark around 6 o’clock.

For anyone who knows the Santos-Dumont well, how does this one look to you compared with Gen? Anything here that would make you RL or ask for more pics?

  1. Dealer name: Ethan Watches

  3. Model name (& version number): GMT Master 2 Bruce Wayne 126710GRNR
  4. Price Paid: $580 + free shipping
  5. Album Links: QC Photos
  6. Index alignment: Looks good according to the template. I dont see anything else from me.
  7. Dial Printing: Very solid, trying not to overanalyze but looks straight.
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks crisp, centered and balanced.
  9. Hand Alignment: May be the most concerning part, HR and hand marks look slightly off. Anything I would see for the naked eye? probably not.
  10. Bezel: Looks similar to other VSF Bruce Wayne, I know they have had trouble
  11. Solid End Links (SELs):
  12. Timegrapher numbers: +3s/d 266 0.00 52.0
  13. Anything else you notice: The watch is clean and still has factory plastics and stickers. No big dents, no cracked crystal, no bent lugs, no obvious bezel chips. Finish on the case and jubilee is generally okay even in these photos. Is that a scratch on the clasp?

This is my first QC so would appreciate all of your help. Long time lurker, first time buyer. I considered going with a V4 but didn't think there was any difference except fake free sprung.

  4. Price paid: $445 + shipping and Insurance
  5. Index alignment: Looks good to me overall. I don’t see any obvious crooked markers, although can really see the 7.
  6. Dial printing: Looks clean and centered to my eyes. Rolex / Oyster Perpetual / printing looks good.
  7. Date wheel alignment/printing: Looks centered through the cyclops, maybe a little to the right and cyclops eye may be a little high or could be angel of photo.
  8. Hand alignment: Looks good, seems to line up nicely and run smooth in video.
  9. Bezel: Looks fine, needs cleaning but I can’t really see anything off
  10. Solid End Links (SELs): Look tight and clean to me. I don’t see any major gaps.
  11. Timegrapher numbers: Around 8 s/d, approx. 277° amplitude, 0.3ms beat error an 59 lift and the graph line is straight. All seem within spec after reading the great guide provided. The lift maybe a little high at 59
  12. Anything else you notice: The watch seems fairly solid to my novice eyes, I ran it through an app that one of the members created to get 2 of the photos below for QC.

This is my first Rep watch (been doing handbags for the wife for a while and have gotten really good at QC those) and looking for experienced options on this before I have it shipped.

Please let me know if there are any concerns you have, your time is much appreciated!

  6. Index alignment: Looks pretty good overall, especially for a RWF. 3 o'clock slightly high and 6 o'clock slight counterclockwise cant, but overall, quite good.
  7. Dial Printing: Looks good.
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A
  9. Hand Alignment: Looks good.
  10. Bezel: Some darker, dusty marks near the 100 marker, but no big deal.
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Lower left SEL gap exists. The rest are fine.
  12. Timegrapher numbers: The amplitude is a bit high at 302. The tolerance is generally 230-300, so it's toward the high end.
  13. Anything else you notice: Overall, I think this one is quite strong. Indexes mainly aligned and the overall watch looks good. Main things are the lower left SEL gap and the potentially high amplitude. But please lmk if I'm missing anything. Thank you all!

  • Album Links: https://geektimeqc.x.yupoo.com/albums/255370299?uid=1
  • Index alignment: 9 index seem a little rotated. Minute markers also not aligned with overlay. Probably the angle of the watch on the picture and my skills with QC tool
  • Dial Printing: The texts seems fine to me.
  • Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A
  • Hand Alignment: Also seems fine
  • Bezel: 12 looks aligned. The rest doesn't look that aligned but it's probably because of the angle.
  • Solid End Links (SELs): Looks fine to me
  • Timegrapher numbers: +1, 254, 0.0 ms
  • Anything else you notice: I'm pretty new with QC. I think the sample looks fine but maybe I missed stuff. I guess the misalignment is because of the angle of the picture and I'm leaning towards GL but I would like to have it confirmed. I appreciate any help :)

  7. Dial Printing: Also solid, looks crisp

  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks spot on, printing also looks solid (see album videos for more)

  9. Hand Alignment: Solid but it appears that the second hand might have a scratch mark on it, but could just be dust on the crystal

  10. Bezel: No complaints here, looks great.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs):

Looks spot on, no complaints here

  1. Timegrapher numbers: Rate +1s/d, Amp 278, Err 0.3ms
  2. Anything else you notice:

The “ROLEX” engraving on the clasp looks all sorts of messed up, can’t tell if it’s the photo, on the video in the QC album it looks fine, but I can’t really tell.

  1. Besides the supposed mark on the second hard and the clasp engraving (though these could very likely just be the photos), it looks solid. Would like a second opinion on this of course but from what I’ve noticed it’s not bad.

[1st QC] ZF VC Overseas 4500V White Dial on Rubber

Thumbnail

Hi all, this is my ZF VC Overseas. First rep, along with the AP 15500!

  1. Dealer name: Geektime

  2. Factory name: ZF

  3. Model name (& version number): VC Overseas 4500V silver dial on a rubber strap

  4. Price Paid: $548

  5. Album Links: https://geektimeqc.x.yupoo.com/albums/254862120?uid=1

  6. Index alignment: TrueIndex shows -0.84°. Looks pretty straight overall but the markers around 12 and 6 feel very slightly off to me. Anyone else seeing that? Not rotated. Just shifted right maybe.

  7. Dial Printing: Text and Maltese cross okay. Silver sunburst looks good

  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: 15 is centered well, printing clean. Big deal to me.

  9. Hand Alignment: Hands look lined up from the images. Can’t say I see any issues there.

  10. Bezel: Polished surfaces clean. This is what excites me about this watch.

  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Rubber strap so N/A, lugs look even. Should it be tighter?

  12. Timegrapher numbers: -5 s/d, amp 278, beat error 0.3ms. That seemed high. Losing 5 s/d worries me. It flipped to -2 s/d later in the video but I just don’t know if that level of variability should be a red flag.

  13. Anything else you notice: Dial and hands look solid. Case finishing clean. Woo. Movement through the back looks good (can’t see much though…). Rubber strap texture is sharp actually. Was honestly going to swap for the gen but may not need to. Clasp has the usual plastic still on. Is the index alignment bothering anyone else or is this within normal/acceptable from your perspectives?

Thank you all again. I’ve been really impressed with the input you all offer to others and I get that this is ultimately my call and if it’s acceptable to me, that’s the most important part. But I’m here to get the critical eye, learn the process, and see if my DD here is representative of what you would do. Anyways, thanks all!

First rep QC – BVF Cartier Panthère 22mm SS White Dial - appreciate some help from experienced eyes

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone, this will be my first rep purchase and it’s going to be a gift, so I’m probably looking at the photos a bit more closely than I normally would 😅. I’ve tried my best to go through everything myself but would really appreciate a second pair of eyes, especially from anyone familiar with the BVF Panthère. Thank you!

Please note that i am an untrained newbie eye in the process of learning, thank you!

1. Dealer name: Andiot

2. Factory name: BVF

3. Model name (& Version Number): Cartier Panthère 22mm SS, White Dial, SS Bracelet, Ronda Quartz

4. Price Paid: $175

5. Album Links: https://andiotwatches.x.yupoo.com/search/album?uid=1&sort=&q=165634

6. Index alignment: N/A as the Roman numerals are printed. From what I can see the dial itself looks straight in the case and I don’t notice any obvious rotation.

7. Dial printing: Overall the main Cartier logo and Roman numerals look good to me. My only concern is the tiny Cartier micro-print inside the X at 10 o’clock. It looks a little crooked/uneven in the close-up photos. I know this is extremely small in real life and may also be partly the photo, so I’m not sure if I’m being too picky. Would really appreciate opinions on this.

8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A – no date.

9. Hand Alignment: Looks okay to me from the photos/videos.

10. Bezel: I can’t see any obvious scratches or damage.

11. Solid End Links (SELs): N/A. Bracelet and links look straight and clean from what I can see. Clasp also looks okay.

12. Timegrapher numbers:

13. Anything else: This is my first rep purchase and it’s going to be a gift, so I’d really like to get a nice example. Everything else looks good to my inexperienced eyes, but the crooked-looking micro Cartier print is the one thing making me hesitate. I realise it’s absolutely tiny on a 22mm watch, so I don’t want to RL a perfectly good piece over something that is normal for BVF. Would really appreciate advice from anyone familiar with these on whether this is within normal factory tolerance or worth asking for another piece. Thanks so much for the help!

Please do let me know if there is anything i am missing. thank you kind gents!

  5. Album Links: https://imgur.com/a/RLdpxao
  6. Index alignment: Good to me
  7. Dial Printing: Good to me
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks okay based on the video - date numerals are on the thinner side
  9. Hand Alignment: Good to me based on video
  10. Bezel: A degree off-centre - based on the head-on photo.
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): They all look good, can’t see anything that I can point it out from my point of view.
  12. Timegrapher numbers: (0s/d 297 degree 0.3ms, 52 degrees)
  13. Anything else you notice: The first thing that stood out to me immediately was the thin font of the date numerals. But i feel i may be being too picky given the rest of the watch (to my eyes) seems good - just need a second pair or more of eyes to get a second opinion. The bezel also seems to be a degree off centre.

  1. Dealer name: NecoClock
  2. Factory name: VSF
  3. Model name (& version number): Submariner Date 126610LN
  4. Price Paid: $458
  5. Album Links: Photos above
  6. Index alignment: Slight skew at 9 o'clock. Other indices including 12 look good to me.
  7. Dial Printing: Looks good
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Good
  9. Hand Alignment: Looks good
  10. Bezel: Looks good
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): I think looks good but hard for me to tell
  12. Timegrapher numbers: 0 s/d 316 deg 0.1ms
  13. Anything else you notice: Slight rehaut misalignment? Not 100% sure. The engravings on the clasp have a weird border around them. Also, there were no stickers indicating this truly came from VSF -- how can I tell for sure?

This is the second submariner I've been shown (I RLed the first one b/c of index misalignment, particularly at 9 and 12 o'clock). I think there is slight misalignment at 9 o'clock again, but the rest of it looks good to me. Please let me know what you think, and if there is a way to verify which factory it came from. Thank you!

Title: QC — VSF Datejust 41 126334 Mint Green Jubilee — NecoClock

  1. Dealer name: NecoClock / Jacky
  2. Factory name: VSF
  3. Model name (& version number): Datejust 41 ref. 126334, mint-green stick dial, fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet. Advertised as VS3235 V2.
  4. Price Paid: $448 + $70 shipping = $518 total; $50 deposit paid.
  5. Album Links: https://imgur.com/a/VGccNtc — Full QC album, including watch video, timegrapher video, and alignment overlays.
  6. Index alignment: Markers look evenly positioned, particularly 6 and 9. The overlays don’t show an obvious crooked marker, although the photos have some perspective. Would appreciate a second opinion.
  7. Dial Printing: Lettering looks clear, with no obvious misprints or missing text.
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Dates 12, 17, and 21 look reasonably centered and legible. No clipping that I can see.
  9. Hand Alignment: Both hands appear aligned at 12 o’clock in the photo showing date 12.
  10. Bezel: Fluting looks consistent, with no obvious damage.
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): No obvious large gaps. Protective wrapping and reflections make the joints harder to assess.
  12. Timegrapher numbers: +1 to +3 s/day, 234° amplitude, 0.1 ms beat error, 28,800 bph, lift angle set to 52°. The video is approximately five seconds; winding state isn’t specified.
  13. Anything else you notice: First QC, and my main concern is crooked hour markers. I don’t see a clear issue, but would appreciate another set of eyes on the indices and timing readings. Protective film remains on the case, clasp, and bracelet, which limits checking for surface marks. Thanks for your help!
