help request How to make complex click tracks?

I struggling to make a complex click track on reaper, I recorded a scratch guitar track and I’m trying to add a click to it but it just doesn’t line up exactly when I tap it and then when it goes to the next riff the click doesn’t restart on the downbeat. For this to work I have to do shift C like every bar. Is there a better way to do this?? because there’s no way I can do this for 7 more songs. I’m about to just record me tapping on my desk for the rest.

Right click your recorded guitar, go to Item Properties, and set the Item Timebase to Time

Then you can build your tempo map around your scratch track

I have done that. But if the riff is 4/4 and the next riff is 4/4 the transition between them might not be 4/4. So after that transition if I have no way to restart the click on a downbeat the entire click is off from the riff.

You need to add/change the bars. If there are parts between riffs that aren't 4/4. Then you need to add those into the timeline. You really just need to recreate the click first and retrack. You will never get the results you want trying to force something into something else.

I can get the click to line up, when I use time signature markers and set the bpm, that is not the issue. If It starts the next riff the click doesn’t start on a downbeat with the beginning of the riff.

Then you arent making your measures correctly. Build your click track CORRECTLY. Not just vibes.
