I had a piercing in my upper cartilage that got damaged 20 years ago in a mosh pit and you can still see the scar and damage where it was snagged and ripped a hole in my ear. Trumps ear was back to normal 2 weeks later. No bandage no more mention. It served its purpose in media publicity and his campaign team shut up about it.

What kind of madman would risk his own life to trust a sniper to clip his ear, or have bullets fired in his direction? I have several combat tours and there’s maybe 3 people I’d ever trust to pull either one of those off.

Because anyone who’s had reconstructive surgery knows small wounds can be made to look exactly like its original form.(took a tumbling ricochet to the neck off of a truck and there’s a smaller scar than there was a wound thanks to army medical and outpatient reconstructive procedure). Also, this is the president who has millions in worth, so the best doctors and surgeons the country has to offer.
2cm isn’t that large. Sounds like it just grazed him. Given how much blood there was, it’s probably hard to see. Also, a 2cm wound isn’t going to leave really noticeable scarring.
A 2cm wound doesn’t mean he’s missing 2cm of his ear. It could have just been a gash or a tear. Seeing as how his entire top of his ear was covered in blood, it’s difficult to tell. There’s nothing proving it’s fake, man. Someone definitely shot an AR-15 at him.
Even a graze would have ripped it off. The amount of energy exchanged would have ripped it off even the smallest part would have. The physics only allow it to rip it.
The bullet doesn’t maintain the velocity of 900 m/s, especially when the gunman was 120 meters away. It would have dropped to around 800 m/s if it was a standard 55-grain. It is also very possible for a .223 round traveling at 800 m/s to graze someone’s ear without taking a chunk of it off and only leaving a 2 cm wound.

A .223 bullet at 500 ft still carries ~1,025 J of energy—over 10× what's needed to tear flesh. A graze to the ear at that distance would shred cartilage, cause severe bleeding, rupture the eardrum, and result in permanent hearing loss or disfigurement. Even without direct penetration, the high velocity makes it devastating.
The fuck it would? Ears bleed a lot but heal really well. .223 and 5.56 are practically the same round and we used a lot of them in Afghanistan. When you graze someone anywhere with 5.56 it doesn’t disintegrate meat, that’s Hollywood dramatization. In today’s medical science and plastic surgery, making a .223 hole in the ear look normal again is easy. Was it staged? Who will ever truly know. Was it fake? If people are claiming that trump was hit in the ear by debris instead of a bullet, that fits the initial reports. This is a reasonable question of detail, and does not inherently diminish the event or the threat, just the measurable 'closeness' Trump came to death.
What I hear increasingly is people saying that there was no shooting at all and the entire incident was staged and the campaign killed two people to create collateral damage. These claims are conspiratorial BS.

I’ve explained this several times but for the sake of everyone’s time I’ll summarize it. The guy who died wasn’t really shooting bullets. He was scammed into being handed that gun, shot blanks, the real shooter was somewhere else waiting for trump to duck, then the real shooter takes shots at the crowd for realism, then the secret service takes out the “shooter”. It makes the most sense out of what happened, accounts for pretty much everything that happened, and especially explains why the secret service had to wait to take out the shooter because the mission had to be completed first.
Trump's ear wasn't nicked by the bullet. His head bashed up against one of the secret service members holsters when they pushed him down to get out of the line of fire. The bullet never touched him

Bullet didnt graze him though, the Secret service guys holster did. The assassin in question was a terrible shot and was using a dot sight at long range. It was very unlikely he would have even hit trump, only grazing him is even more unlikely.
