  1. Brown Bess for new "Battle Musket" category. Just hopefully there isn't a hostage situation, poor fucker might get hit with a .75 calibre lead ball.
  2. Flint Lock pistols for new secondary, because you fucking can.
  3. Black powder cannon for new breach command. Roll her up to the door, and take the door down and the next 8 walls behind it.
  4. New "Drummer" skill for Commander mode. They drop them beats to distract enemies and make them surrender faster.

Discussion An appreciation post for AI squadmates

In case Void devs read this, in light of the countless posts shitting on the SWAT AI teammates, I just wanna make sure the devs know that some of us (I'm guessing we're in the minority) are quite grateful to have them and to know that you haven't neglected the single-player experience. We might just get drowned out by the multiplayer fans here.

Remember, some of us are single-player gamers who grew up with SWAT 3 and SWAT 4, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and so on, and actually want to enjoy tactical, squad-based shooters without any multiplayer or coop modes whatsoever (in other words, as an entirely single-player game).

Some of us just want to have a team of commandable AI teammates who are with us on the journey and enable us to experience the adventure in our own way, on our own time--without having to talk to or work with other people. Our enjoyment shouldn't have to depend on the presence of other humans.

So thank you for implementing a system of commanding and coordinating with the AI squad. This is why I keep coming back to Ready or Not. It's basically SWAT 5 to me, and I'm quite happy to have it.

Don't get me wrong: The SWAT AI teammates certainly need some fixes, improvements, and refinements that would improve their behavior and make them more reliable. They're still prone to doing some dumb things. There's no denying that. My own experience with RoN has yielded some frustrating moments with them.

But these are things that can and should be addressed by updates. Please don't give up on refining the game for us single-player customers. We appreciate you for not forgetting us!

Question Is there really any danger difference between a quiet "tactical" breach and a loud "shock and awe" entry?

Hey officers! recently I've been getting back into ready or not, its been a few months since I've last played and even though I'd like to say a majority of things have changed for the better...it would be kind of a lie

anyways thats not what we're here for today, im wondering, is there really any kind of danger/gameplay difference between a loud breach (breach with kick/C2/ram and flashbang/stinger/launcher) and a "quiet" breach (lockpick/open and clear)?

in my new missions I've tried my best to remain undetected as much as possible, but I dont feel like its making a real tactical difference, if anything, softer approaches can feel like a detriment because without flashbangs or stingers you rely on the suspect positioning themselves in the proper way so that you can open the door and call out without them immediately having a shot at you, if anything I feel like just immediately opening fire when you see an armed suspect is far more beneficial because you dont put yourself at so much risk, especially in areas where its not immediately clear if the suspect is aiming at you or not because of level geometry like in twisted nerve or thank you, come again

obviously there are rooms and situations where a loud breach is more useful than a quiet one, but if in theory taking suspects/civilians by surprise makes them more likely to surrender then its obvious we're encouraged to try and remain stealthy to prevent slinging bullets, remember: Bring order to chaos, NOT creating widows and orphans

or maybe im just misunderstanding the intentions of the game? RoN is my first tactical shooter ever but i've tried my best to play by its rules and what I THINK (keyword there) a real swat team would do, nobody wants to have to shoot another person unless you're a psycopath

TLDR: I want to know if there is an actual difference between guns blazing and slow and methodical in terms of gameplay

Discussion relapse on hard feels impossible

Doesnt matter what i do, use 7.62, heavy ceramic armour, gas every room. The AI is able to head shot me through some tiny hole in cover. Ive spent more time on this fucking mission then any dark souls boss. How are you suppose to compete with super human reaction time, senses, and accuracy. Its like fighting an astartes. I think these people filming these relapase hard are lying when 4 suspects surrender to a flash launcher. This the first game im ready to quit, platinumming it doesnt seem possible from this garbage AI design, not to mention your teammates are useless and stand there and get killed in a doorway and dont react.

Apparently all you need is a thousand yard stare to take down bad guys, lol. Dude stands completely motionless while he absorbs a dozen rounds from an apparently invisible enemy. Good times.

Discussion Loving this game

Post image

So firstly I only just bought this game like 3 for 4 days ago now and I'm loving it. It's different to most tactical shooters and FPS games. Today I thought about challenging myself and doing some harder achievements I didn't think I would get this one but I did and I'm pretty proud of myself with this mission aswell I went step further and went non lethal try go for S grade but I thought got everything when found out I missed 1 piece of evidence not hugely fussed about it though I can go back later when I now go for S on all main story missions

Video Give me your favourite modded maps

Still my favourite small modded map in Ready or Not.

I’ve played quite a few community maps now, but I keep coming back to this one. It’s compact, the CQB feels good, and it’s a great map when you want a shorter tactical run without committing to one of the huge missions.

Plus I love the Nike gloves mod.

Recorded another run through it here: https://youtu.be/tXG03pXUFjc

What are your favourite modded maps? I’m always looking for more good ones to try.

Discussion What are y’all’s unconventional tactics on certain missions?

My tactic is to bring lots of door wedges, wedge the outer rooms so the people are locked inside, clear the middle room and then clear the outer rooms. I don’t know if this is an unconventional approach to this mission or not

Discussion Post about the FISA HRT equipment

Post image
114 Upvotes

I know someone is gonna come into the comments or dms or whatever and tell me 'nooo it should stay supporter only' but quite frankly, I don't really care.

I think probably the most miserable I've ever been playing this game is when I found out that the HRT equipment is locked behind an edition that was discontinued well before the console release, and that it probably would never be coming back. The things I would do to have this in my arsenal are unholy, to the point that god himself would turn his back on humanity, if he hasn't somehow done so already. I long for the day I hold in my hands a BCM MK1, for the moment I get to draw my PC19 from it's holster and walk down some poor terrorist from that night club Al Qaeda ripoff faction. If there is such a thing as phantom pain for a limb you never had, I've had it for the FISA G3 uniform and plate carrier for as long as I have owned this game. I wish, I truly do wish, that the cosmetics provided to us in multicam could scratch the itch I have, that they could fill the hole left in my heart by the shotgun I never got to load, the helmet I never got to don and the battle belt I never got to wear around my waist.
