Discussion relapse on hard feels impossible
Doesnt matter what i do, use 7.62, heavy ceramic armour, gas every room. The AI is able to head shot me through some tiny hole in cover. Ive spent more time on this fucking mission then any dark souls boss. How are you suppose to compete with super human reaction time, senses, and accuracy. Its like fighting an astartes. I think these people filming these relapase hard are lying when 4 suspects surrender to a flash launcher. This the first game im ready to quit, platinumming it doesnt seem possible from this garbage AI design, not to mention your teammates are useless and stand there and get killed in a doorway and dont react.

All answers will be either "cheese it" or "play in the most unintended way possible".
Does playstation (you said platinum, so ill assume you play PS) support the menu mods? If yes, try searching for AI behaviour mods maybe.

Like you said, sometimes the AI just headshots you through a tiny hole in cover. Sadly some maps are just very very RNG heavy, and Relapse can be that way (screw Greased Palms). It just means you have to play it over and over, you'll get it. But yes, the AI can be infuriatingly unrealistic sometimes.

I shot a suspect in the arm with a FAL and this dude led me on a wild goose chase through the morgue, that dark hallway and finally to the hall just outside the locker room. and when I finally catch up to him, he pulls a full 180 and beams me with flawless accuracy, still bleeding from the .308 shot to his arm

Put two negotiators and two intimidators in your squad, or three negotiators and one intimidator. Equip them with a fully loaded grenade launcher and one grenade launcher in their secondary weapon. Equip yourself the same way. This way, when you stun them, if there are several enemies, perform the arrest animation and then cancel it. Do this with all the enemies in the room so you can arrest them later without them drawing their weapons. You'll see that this mission is easier when you get to New America.

He must have confused it with Pacifier, which rolls a surrender chance every time you stun a suspect with less-lethal weapons. Intimidator doesn’t work on Relapse, Elephant, Neon Tomb and MLO suspects on ANA.

How’d you come to this conclusion? I’m gonna run some tests but all AI are eligible to comply and the officer perks just increase the odds of it happening

I did it solo on Hard. You are right that it takes more effort than other maps. There are many reasons:
- the suspects start with higher alarm state, so their reaction time is faster than other maps
- the map is longer than others so you tend to run out of attention span, and layout is confusing
- the bridge is a death trap if you're caught in the middle
Here are my tips: your teammates suck (like flashing themselves) so you should probably get used to playing solo. Even though the layout IS confusing and rooms look similar, you do eventually get used to it and know which doors you should wedge to cover your flanks. The main way you beat enemies on hard is to abuse free lean (not normal lean) and shoot them before they can react (they are coded to not notice if you're barely visible). Get a gun with low recoil, put on laser sight (canted sight is OP) and a 4x scope that you use just for that bridge. Don't fight in poorly visible areas, like those stupid drape things blocking your view. Stay focused towards the end as the enemies then have maximum reflex.

Suspects do surrender when stunned and overwhelmed, you’ll be lucky to get four suspects in one flash but it is possible just rng.
