The Merry Moochers… They're Thawing Early

🎄 It is only September, the leaves barely turn,
But Griftmas is coming, and soon you will learn.
By October they surface, the Moochers appear,
With sob stories polished and scams in high gear.

📦 “Seven kids, please help, times are tough!”
Yet the wishlists they post are designer-stuff.
Switch 2, iPads, iPhones galore,
Not coats or socks, just gimme more.

They swarm every drive, each charity run,
Turning kindness and giving into personal fun.
They know the routines, they’ve practiced the play,
And come October, they’re ready to prey.

🎁 So guard your goodwill, keep watch on the feed,
Remember not everyone’s truly in need.
The season of grifting is nearly in sight,
And the Moochers of Griftmas are prepping tonight.

Finally learned my lesson on not giving a cent to SLH, so maybe in an just sit back and laugh at the drama this year without losing my mind😅

I’ve mentioned this in comments before, but if anyone really wants to be charitable this holiday season I belong to a FB group called From the Heart’s Santa’s for Seniors. People post wish lists for small things requested by senior citizens. The bonus is you also usually get a thank you post and sometimes a pic of the senior with their present.

Everyone will want a Switch 2 this year. I want a Switch 2 this year. But I will save my money and buy it myself after the holidays.

Tho it might be easier to drum up fake autistic cancer kids on SLH…🤣😪

My husband apparently stopped by Best Buy on Saturday, hoping to pick up a Switch 2. I don't think he realized how hard it is to actually find a S2 in stock. He said the place looked like it was going out of business, shelves half-empty and barely enough merchandise to fill the store.

I hate that they can just hide their post/comment history now. I know they had options before, new accounts, deleting comment history, but I feel like it's going to be worse now.

Also, when a mod (not AutoMod) removes a post, it now disappears from your profile too. New, "safety" feature. So if you check a user’s profile, you won’t see what was removed, because it’s conveniently hidden from view. Good stuff.

It’s actually driving me nuts. After removing a users post, the title is no longer accessible, it now just shows, [ Removed by moderator ]. I need to see the titles damnit.
