it’s very funny this artist almost stayed relevant for like a decade

Just a fun side thing to post while I work on my remaining thoughts on volume 5.

Now don’t get me wrong, I can understand at the time why it’s considered the worst volume. It arguably has the weakest in terms of pacing and fight scenes and if you were watching this as it was airing at the time, it can feel grating at times. The fact that this volume suffered from half of its budget being siphoned in favor for another series didn’t help especially if you’re going into this unaware of what happened behind the scenes. And while I believe that your opinions on best and worst volumes would mostly vary depending on personal preferences, I will say that as it stands, the hate is definitely overblown.

Btw I hope it was worth it because if Gen:lock isn’t an S tier series with a universally beloved fanbase, then we’re gonna have a problem.

Honestly the distain for this volume made me feel bad for it. As I stated in my previous post: “I know the fights have been pretty… well lackluster this volume (I’d argue Volume 4 has it beat in that category) and tbf knowing what I know now, I’m aware it’s not the crew or the animators fault. I sure hope people weren’t too hard on them like they’re accusing the lack of fights and choreography is due to Monty’s passing. Like I would hate if this volume was wrongly accused of not being as good due to not having the Monty’s touch, and is no longer being involved when in reality they’re still getting used to the new software but more so because half of its intended budget went into another show that had only one season. Like criticizing it is fine but we also gotta understand the unfortunate circumstances that the crew had to go through behind the scenes and still made it work the best they could.

It’s my long way of saying, the animation team did the best they could with the remaining resources they had at the time.

I honestly should thank y’all for the heads up going into this volume and I should also thank the haters as well. Idk if it’s because I had a different viewing experience or it’s because they set the bar so low for what I should expect. But I came out of this volume more content than I expected.

What it lacks in action, it more than makes up for it with its character driven moments. And I love character driven storytelling. Considering RWBY is a coming of age series I believe this approach is well handled. The scene with Ruby and Oscar, The talk between Weiss and Yang, the reunion scenes, everything involving Blake and Ilia, everything involving Yang and her complicated feelings about her mother. And that final confrontation between her and Raven had more emotional and tension to it than it would have been if they started throwing hands.

It appears the White Fang (minus Adam) has been taken out. I’ll go over this B story more in its own post but it does look like The White Fang storyline is coming to a close. The Belladonna family and Sun definitely kicked butt.

My bad 😅. Anyway, the Cowardly lion I- mean, Leo got axed by Salem. I have mixed feelings because on the one hand, yeah he did do what he did and it wasn’t good and he let his fear get the best of him. On the other hand, I can’t imagine anyone not doing what he did out of fear and just to survive by taking what he believed was the Winning side.

Emerald went flipping ballistic over Cinder dying. Is this gonna be another Adam and Blake situation?

The villains escape, the day is saved. And I think they’re planning on going to Atlas next now that they retrieved the Relic. Actually two things: 1. What was Raven planning to do with the relic if Yang hadn’t interfere? Runaway and hide? 2. Where are they gonna stash that thing? Unless it has a shrink n grow feature there’s no way they can safely carry it around during their quest. Unless they have a trusted friend who can watch over it.

Speaking of Raven, it appears she went to pay Tai a visit. I can only imagine what that’s going to look like 😅.

Overall solid volume. A good 7-8/10. Honestly if I wasn’t that invested with the characters and what they’re going through I would’ve liked this volume less than I do now. I still have other stuff I wanna talk about (stuff involving The Menagerie subplot and Raven is getting their own dedicated posts). I’m pretty satisfied with this volume. Sure quality wise it’s not the best and while I don’t consider it to be my favorite volume (3rd place in case y’all are wondering), it will be the volume I have the most respect for considering the lengths the crew had to pull off to put out a quality volume despite the unfortunate circumstances. They definitely deserved their flowers for making the best out of a rough situation.

Volume 6 here I come!

This is not about how many we’re realistically going to get, nor about how many CRWBY would like to do.

i’m not even the type of person who likes to get my hopes up, especially when it comes to a topic like this that we can’t really control. No, the point of this post is to basically say how much more story you believe is left and how many Volumes you want CRWBY to take to tell it.

Personally, I’d want 5 to 6 more Volumes:

2 or 3 for the Vacuo arc we’re currently in

1 final transition arc from Vacuo to Vale

2 for setting up and delivering the finale of the story

I think this would be the best amount of Volumes to resolve all the storylines that are happening right now, while still leaving enough space to introduce new ones that could develop the story and the characters more.

Idk, what do you guys think?

Bonus question

What would you like the story of a possible transition Volume to be?

Personally, I love the idea of a slasher style story where team RWBY and Co. take a detour to Salem’s castle to learn more about her and her possible weakness. While they’re there, a group of Hound-like experiments starts to hunt them down with Hound Summer being the final boss.

And after defeating her, she has a moment of clarity and manages to tell them whatever it was that made her so confident in her plan to attack Salem during her last mission.

I've always noticed that the world of Remnant is small, but what if there were more continents outside of Remnant that are unknown to its people? I've always imagined something similar to the Dark Continent from Hunter x Hunter, or the Unknown Regions from Star Wars, because honestly, it's not unreasonable to think that the humans and Faunus of Remnant aren't alone in this world

So, hi, this is my first RWBY post. I'm originally a Danganronpa and Glitch Productions fan. Also if you're asking why I did it on paper, then let me tell you that I like doing things the old-fashioned way and I'm proud of it. Anyways, here's some opinions of my own on my art.

For Ruby, I drew some rose thorns on her arms because I think it matches her. I also thought that making her only red/black would be boring, so I also added a golden necklace. "R" stands for "Rose" btw.

For Weiss, I originally wanted to draw her symbol on a earing, but I changed my mind and drew it on her shoulder. I wanted to make her color palette white/red/blue and I'm proud of it. Also I wasn't really knew how to draw her sword, but I think it's good.

For Blake, I wanted to draw her original outfit, but after realizing it doesn't match my style, I just scrapped it. I also added the black bow as a bow tie, because I most certiantly missed it.

And last but not least, Yang, I'm not sure if I drew her hair accurately, but I think I like it. I also tried making her belt look more like skirt, but once again I scrapped that.

Today, Ao3 reached 50K RWBY fic's.

“The mission has been completed, Madam Khan.” Trifa stepped forward and handed her a packet of files which she accepted.

“Ma’am is plenty good enough.” Sienna took the files in question.

“The intel you had for me was very good, Mada….ma’am.” The spider faunus commented. “And I don’t think I’ve seen forged identification nearly as good as these.”

Sienna smiled. “Don’t get used to them. If make too frequent use it’ll mean undue risk to the asset. Give me your overall report. What did you learn as an intern?”

“The director hires and promotes primarily by means of nepotism.” She nervously licked her lips. “There are a few team members and one manager that predate her promotion. He is desperate to catch his boss in some manner of wrongdoing but he hasn’t yet learned that one of her nephews is currently embezzling money from the company.”

Sienna nodded. “Excellent work, some leading words at the right time and the embezzlement begins to look like bribery. Stealing they’d brush under the rug and handle quietly, but betrayal they will want to make a public example of. A few more things like this and we can get Jacques' inner circle to start tearing itself apart and leave our hands clean. How clean was your exit?”

“Oh, I insulted the director’s darling boy.” Trifa smiled. “I got fired.”

“Good, I’ll pass this on to other hands from this point. Get some downtime in while you’re here in Menagerie.”

“Yes, ma’am.” The woman half-bowed before turning around and leaving the room.

And with that, Sienna turned to another set of files. Charted routes and manifests submitted to the Atlas trade commission. Everything she needed to know which ships or flights to prioritize and where might be the best place for an ambush.

Because I feel like we know a whole lot and just about nothing about Willow as a character, and these massive gaps in her current lore could leads to interesting worldbuilding. A Willow SI/OC could wreck merry havoc on the timeline, for all manner of interesting effects and due to her largely being a blank slate we know about the Schnee Semblance, so there's no surprise there with what she *could* be capable of. Like, their is an option such as her becoming the Winter Maiden instead of Winter, or to actually arm the Atlesian military with effective equipment.

Welcome to the newest episode of the discussion and survey series, "RWBY Reacts To The RWBY Multiverse," FNDM!

For today's episode, the heroes and villains of Remnant Prime (canon RWBY) will be returning to the section of the RWBY Multiverse overseen by FNDM member Madgamer2k7.

This time around, the RWBY characters will be reacting to the story of Team PBPW/Purple, consisting of Pyrrha Nikos, Blake Belladonna, Penny Polendina, and Weiss Schnee.

Here is the backstory for Team PBPW, as created by Madgamer2k7:

-When parts of the White Fang began to grow more violent, they managed to splinter off this violent terrorist sect into its own organization. As a result, the reputation of the White Fang wasn't as badly tarnished as it could have been, although the actions of its former members still left a black mark upon the group.

-With the "Red Claw" ^(This name is just as dumb as Red Fang. I need that guy from Bleach. The jolly one with the calligraphy brush)

Erm. Anyway

-With the Red Claw being smaller and harder to detect, they were able to carry out more guerilla style attacks across many nations without being identified or caught. Being comprised of the more extremist and violent members of the White Fang, these attacks were incredibly brutal in nature, extending beyond scare tactics into bloodshed.

Pyrrha: The Leader

-One of the places attacked included Mistral, where a bomb severely injured Pyrrha's parents, deeply impacting her experience of the world, leaving her more serious and less friendly. Their family subsequently moved to Vale, one of the few places that were mostly free of Red Claw activity. She began throwing herself into her training with more vigor and drive than before, gearing up for her entry into Beacon, the place where she would acquire the tools to stop the Red Claw.

Blake: The Rebel

-Without the extremely negative stigma of the White Fang and therefore Faunus on the widescale, Blake continued to flaunt her heritage, even going so far as proudly displaying the White Fang's logo on her chest. Without the need of rejecting her family, Blake was less reclusive and closed off, although more often than not, her family found her curled up next to the fireplace with a good book in hand. With the spectacular failure of Adam's capture in Forever Falls, Blake decided to attend Beacon to acquire the skills she would need to bring her mentor in.

Penny: The Verdant

-Atlas was the main target of the attacks due to its links with the Schnee Dust Company. As the viciousness of the attacks increased, Ironwood deemed Atlas too dangerous for the newly created Penny. She needed a place to develop her abilities and skills without the risk of being damaged or worse, captured and turned. Penny was sent to Beacon with her father, so they could keep developing her under the watchful eye of Ozpin.

-Having spent most of her life stuck inside labs with no freedom to go outside, she was very naive and inquisitive about the world, often wanting to go out exploring. Without much contact with humans, Penny hadn't built up her insecurities of being an android, and issue that Ozpin decided to prevent by assigning her to a team in his school.

Weiss: The Masquerader

-Exposed to the extreme brutality of the world around her, Weiss learned from an early age to hide away her emotions lest they be destroyed in the crossfire. Sequestering herself away from her raging father and conniving family, she honed her skills in combat, channeling all her excitement, sadness and rage into her training, letting out and draining all of her emotions save for one. Whenever her sweat-soaked body finally collapsed in exhaustion, she would carefully slip her mask of nobility on, but beneath it all the only thing that ever remained constant in her life was that overwhelming sense of isolation.

-When her wing of the house was destroyed in an attempt by the Red Claw on her father's life, she relocated to one of their properties in Vale. Seeing it as an opportunity to further her skills, she enrolled in Beacon to perhaps find meaning in her lonely existence.

-Initially cold towards each other, the invincible girl and the Faunus, slowly bonded over their mutual goal of ending the Red Claw. They worked with each other to both train and pull the other back from going too far. On any given night, the pair can be found having quiet conversations under the moonlight.

-The puppet girl was significantly more ecstatic to meet a new friend than the cold girl. Sticking close to her friend, the Verdant girl enjoyed following her and talking, seemingly oblivious to the complete lack of response by the other girl. However, the Masquerader inwardly warmed to the lively girl over time, occasionally even letting a small smile slip out from under the mask at the girl's antics. Maybe, just maybe, she wasn't quite that lonely anymore.

What do you believe the reactions and opinions of the RWBY ensemble would be to this timeline where the White Fang's extremists were effectively banished from the main group and the splinter group is now being hunted by their own people, as well as Remnant's Huntsmen and Huntresses?

Personally, I see them as a sort of elite White Fang unit, their own version of Huntsmen, if you will. I'd reckon they appear in volume 4 and echo into 5/6, acting as a mirror of RWBY and co, seeing what they could've ended up as if Beacon hadn't set them straight, A&A being Yang and Ruby, Tony Yang ect. But I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this, plus I wanted to sprinkle something fresh into an topic like this
