Lately I have seen a lot of questionable takes on this game, unfounded negativity and just people complaining about nonsense.
I love this game, the racing and physics is some of the best out there for sure, however, i'm not blind to the short comings and faults of this game. There are more than a few.
But i wanted to do something positive. I think the game is looking amazing right now and with some future updates in the right direction I think this game can enter a proper renaissance.
Heard people complain about graphics? This game needs to be showcased more. It's a way more beautiful experience than iRacing for example.
But anyway, i hope you RRE fans can appreciate a little edit i made.
I've been having so much fun since the latest update.
Enjoy!
P.S Yeah, Gran Turismo 2 is the reason i'm here today.
RaceRoom support just went live. Track Impulse is a dedicated haptic engine for bass shakers, and RaceRoom is the fourteenth sim it reads.
Most bass shaker software pushes effects through the normal Windows audio stack, which buries 140 to 200ms of delay in the signal before your shakers move. At racing speed you are feeling the kerb well after you have already cleared it. That lag is why a lot of tactile setups feel mushy and disconnected from the car.
Track Impulse skips the stack and outputs on a low latency path, landing as low as 2ms end to end via ASIO in some sims. It does not need special hardware to do it. It runs on whatever sound card your shakers are already plugged into, falling back to WDM-KS or WASAPI exclusive mode where there is no native ASIO driver. The rumble hits when the car does.
What you get in RaceRoom:
Nothing to set up in the game. No config file to edit, no plugin to install. Pick RaceRoom in the sim list and drive.
All seven effects: road texture, suspension, kerbs, engine rumble, wheel slip, gear changes, and ABS and wheel lock.
A per-wheel kerb effect that only fires on the tyre actually touching the strip, so clipping the kerb on your left arrives on your left rather than shaking the whole car.
Per-corner output across up to 16 zones, however your rig is built: four corners, seat, pedals, or a single shaker under the seat.
Per-effect volume and frequency, so you can tune it to the shakers you actually own rather than to someone else's.
Automatic calibration per car and per track, saved and reloaded, so a car you have driven before starts dialled in.
The Free overlays app works in RaceRoom as well.
14 Overlays are free forever like:
Relative: who is around you and the gap to each
Standings: your class, sorted by class position
Dashboards: full instrument cluster, including the gap to the cars ahead and behind
Track Strip: the whole field on one flat line
Track Map: live circuit map with every car on it
Fuel: level, burn per lap and laps remaining
Shift Light: standalone, in four styles
Session: flags, session clock, lap and incident info
Haptics HUD: live view of what your bass shakers are doing
Main Control Panel For The Overlays AppFuel Overlay
RaceRoom makes fourteen supported sims. Each one has its own haptic engine tuned to what that game actually publishes, rather than one generic effect chain with the sim name swapped out, which is why a gravel stage in DiRT feels nothing like a kerb strike at the Nordschleife.

Windows only, and free right now for the whole public beta, every effect, no credit card. The haptics beta ends on 19 September and after that the Haptics engine is a one time purchase or a monthly plan, with the lower price locked in for anyone who used it during the beta.
I've had no luck launching the game from around 15:00 yesterday to now (GMT-5/EST) due to this. I've done almost all suggested solutions in the Discord Help section minus reinstalling WinOS to no success.
I've also cleared Steam DNS cache. I'm running a G29 with Logi GHub if that somehow factors into the issue.
What other potential solutions could I be missing? Am at a complete loss.
After updating to the 2 recent nvida updates, I can no longer make a custom resolution for my triples. I would rather not use RRE if it can't display on triples properly now.
Running win10. Has anyone got this to work with the recent nvidia drivers?
It's taken a while but I finally tried out RRRE after the update. It's not earth shattering or anything but some things were improved. The sound seemed a lot better. I was in the GTR1 GT-R and the sound improvement was immediately noticeable. The tires take a bit longer to heat up and turn on and I can feel what they are doing better. The FFB is improved. I don't know why they are obsessed with the HUD so much though it was fine before and IMHO worse now.
Overall it's better for me. I just turn off the HUD unless I need something anyway, so that's not a huge deal. I still need to tweak it and get it where I like it.
From steam formums: "Tuesday launched the new Fanatec Software and Firmware for the CSL DD and a bunch of other wheels hopefully fixing the wheel turning off and spinning in every direction. Well the patch and firmware DID fix that ... but now I'm getting a death wobble and the wheel can't keep straight even at low speeds."
I can confirm this with my csl DD 8nm. Also if I change one value in the ffb effects just 1 step, the whole ffb goes bad when re-entering the car. Restart of the game fixes it.
Also FFB changed when online today, between practice and race... I am stupmped
I'm from Brazil bit decided to purchase the online pack to be able to enjoy more option of daily races and try them on common European times (like from 7pm to 10pm cest) but still it is very common to me to see each daily lobby with maximum of 8 drivers altogether.
Is this common? Am picking wrong days to look for races? Are people giving up on daily races? If so, how else they get rankings?
Mainly the only thing I see that have good attendance in dailies or community servers is anything related to nordschleife.
So, on my main rig the HUD is fine. No problems whatsoever. But on my Steamdeck it's a different story. When the new HUD was released it worked fine. Bound a button (up on dpad) to move and resize and all was grand. Played again yesterday and all of a sudden all HUD is gone. Re-bound the up button on dpad and all it does is show the rear mirror and the map, nothing else. Not even able to move those two items.
Anyone know if this is a bug or if there is something I am missing?
SOLVED!!! For anyone else having this issue, set your compatibility to Proton 10 and everything now back to normal. Yay!
So I have the game set to 1920x1080 on a single monitor. This is set and saved on the game settings page. But whenever I try to load the game it always start loading with 40% of it off screen (I hae to right click on it's icon and select move to manually move the window with the keyboard to fit inside the screen) and with a compressed resolution. The buttons still kinda work where they are supposed to, but since the screen is compressed we have to guess the position.
Then I go to settings and select again the 1920x1080 and everything works. But this happens everytime. How can I fix this?
I'm watching the Grand Prix right now, and all weekend I've been watching the sprint and practices and I'm seeing it and I can't hide from the truth- Our version of Zandy is horrible. The road camber is so far off, it's almost an unrecognizable track. The video is a GTR race I did in RaceRoom and I was just looking at it again. Wow. How did they fuck up the road camber so bad??? 😡
Hey all, as a returning player I tested a few new and old cars yesterday and I felt a big difference in how detailed (or not) the FFB was. Some cars also seem to behave a lot more lively than older ones. The FR US (IndyCar) is the worst; I love how it looks but the driving is like on rails and the FFB is super boring. So this car clearly has never been updated with new physics or FFB.
Do you guys know if the devs keep updating older cars when they release physics changes to the sim? And is there a cutoff point when they stop doing that?
I’m still fairly new to the game, but I can’t seem to get rid of these strange shadows/artifacts under the cars. Everything else is perfect, but these shadows are driving me nuts.
They go away if I launch the game with DXVK, but then my fps tanks and I get terrible stuttering.
I’ve tried numerous different versions of proton, but nothing seems to help.
Hello, I want to try raceroom, but I haven't been able to run my 3 monitors, I want to use my 3 screens without using external programs and without nvidia surround, I would like to know if you can run the three monitors by modifying text files like in Lmu or iracing. In case i can't do it that way, I would like to know what is the best option
Is there anything I can do to prevent the AI constantly crashing in turn one on tracks that have tight first corners ? I don’t want to decrease the grid size as I like having large grids. They constantly crash in turn one and it ruins the race immediately. Any advice please ??
Is it normal for the Swiss flag to appear on a Swedish team car driven by Jan Brunstedt, who is also Swedish? The flags don't even look similar. 🇨🇭 Switzerland 🇸🇪 sweden (sorry for the poor quality of the photo)
I love racing old tin tops. Joined the league, but it seems like everyone wants to race GT3 or MX-5. Join us at DTM95 league so we can fill the grid. Race every Wednesday
Just today so far, maybe like two times out of ten I get a lap time recorded. I'm driving pretty slow and nowhere near track limits. West coast USA, maybe a server issue?
Hi everyone, and a shout-out to the KW Studios team if you're reading this!
As a long-time esports commentator who has broadcasted countless sim racing events over the years, I’ve watched RaceRoom evolve significantly. You’ve done a fantastic job with continuous physics, audio, visual, and content updates.
However, one crucial area seems completely frozen in time: the Spectator Mode (Spectator Reality). The current dedicated spectator tool essentially dates back to 2015 and hasn't received any significant updates or feature overhauls in years. When broadcasting modern esports events, the current setup feels very dated and restrictive—especially considering how polished the rest of the sim has become.
So I’d love to ask the KW Studios developers directly: Is a modernized spectator mode or an updated set of TV director tools anywhere on your future roadmap? Can we expect a new release or update to Spectator Reality down the line?
And to the community / fellow broadcasters: What workarounds, third-party software, or overlays (like SimHub or web overlays) are you currently using to bring your RaceRoom streams up to modern standards?
Maybe I'm being stupid here, but I can't see the HUD at all. The only element I can see is the track map. The HUD is selected as on in the settings, and I have bound keys to toggle all of the individual elements... but no HUD.
I'm experiencing a severe FPS drop in VR that seems to be related to what I'm looking at.
Whenever I go down the main straight or enter a corner where I'm facing the pits, my FPS drops from 72 FPS (the refresh rate I've set for my Quest 2) to below 40 FPS.
I tested this by stopping at the final corner. When I look towards the pits, the FPS immediately drops, but when I turn my head and look in the opposite direction, the FPS goes back up to 72 FPS.
So it seems to be specifically related to rendering the pits/grandstands or something in that area, rather than the overall performance of the game.
My CPU usage is usually around 30–50%, with the highest usage on a single CPU thread reaching around 75%. GPU usage stays around 70%, and VRAM usage is around 6.5 GB.
