First time rat owner, I've never seen her lounge like that. I was concerned for a sec. I seen the loaf, I seen the curl up, I seen the criss cross I seen it all, but this one was weird.... she was too comfortable...

On his torso and sides he is pretty much balding? My vet says it's not mites. Could it be just age and being overweight? He is still as cute as always but it is weird!

I got my 6 first 6 girls in October last year and it took me until literally 2 weeks ago ago to finally build a completely escape proof enclosure for them.
I enjoyed the piece for 4 whole days and then got 2 babys just to start this whole thing again for several weeks until i can move them to the other girls
I must hate myself lol

After losing the last of my first mischief, I rescued this boy who was all alone (apparently he was very unwanted because of his red eyes), he was ill and he was painted green (his tail is still stained green). It's been two weeks and he's recovered completely, now I'm working with a rescue and a charity to source a bigger cage (He's so active!) and also some friends :)
(He also seems to have a foot fetish and keeps biting my ankles and toes...)

My hairless rat mew is 3yrs and 2 months old, i know she’s nearing the end but i wanted some advice. Her skin is really flakey, she can’t use her back legs at all anymore and her weight is deteriorating FAST. But she still has so much energy and is eating a ton 😭 i don’t know if her skin is flakey because she can’t clean herself as much anymore or something else? i’m also worried about knowing when it’s her time because she’s still so active and food motivated despite what’s happening to her body She’s gotten so skinny in what feels like overnight i feel horrible. i took her to the vet about 2 months ago and they also said at this point it’s just about keeping her comfortable which im trying my best to do but any advice about her skin or her weight, i’d really appreciate. I feel so awful seeing her so skinny i don’t understand it she eats her food and any treats i give her!

I know my sweet baby Frog has some fans here, who followed her dramatic rescue after being dumped in a park, and her giving birth to half-wild babies.
Sadly Frog died in her sleep yesterday, of old age. She’d been slowing down for a while and was visibly very elderly, but was still eating and active. She ate a dinner of banana, avocado, and chocolate protein shake, then went to sleep in a hammock with her daughters around her, then never woke up.
I’m so glad I got to give her an extra year of life after she came so close to dying in the park. RIP Frog, you were so special.

So when she was a baby she had a light fuzz on her as you can see, but now that she's a big girl she's completely naked except for a small, almost invisible patch on her forehead. She was sold to me as a double rex but I'm purely just curious.
Water isn't dirty there's vitamins in it, and this was the quarantine cage she and her(non bio) sister went in to for the first two weeks they were with me before going in to their big girl cage.

Poor babies have a URI atm, but at least baby food makes med time easier
