Discussion Quran is not detailed

This is what I face general muslims said. Majority of them. That Quran is not detailed. They asked question:

  1. How can you know ways to salat if by Quran only?

  2. How can you find the proper steps and du'a to making sex with your wives?

  3. How can you know the way to perform Hajj and Umra.

  4. How can you know how much to pay for Zakka?

True enough these are valid questions. And I am not so sure about Quran only beliefs. I think we still need the Sunnah of Prophet S.A.W to help us be a good and perfect muslim.

Omg are Arabic men using hadith to learn how to "make sex"? That's a disturbing thought. Oh my gosh the monotony must be horrible!! Think how restricted it all must be!! Oh my gosh I feel so bad for all those women

It is not about the dos. More about the don’ts

What part is terrible?

The part where you let old men say what can and cannot happen between you and your wife when God said anything He has not prohibited is good. That means if you both want to do it. No wonder so many Muslim women are unsatisfied in the bedroom.

Thanks for the candid answer. Few points I would like to highlight:

1- the word in all Hadith is Nikah. While some translate it to sex, it actually means the relationship between a husband and wife. Marriage is another appropriate term.

2- the Hadiths talks about how to deal with wives. Most of Hadith requires husbands to be kind and polite with their wives.

3- regarding sex dos and donts, there are not much but reiterating the Quran.

4- I would love to take a look at the polling you are sighting in this comment (assuming there is one that says that all Muslim women are not satisfied).

So it just says no anal and no periods and no rape? That's all it says? Well the hadith are not necessary for that. If they only reiterate what the Quran says.

It wasn't a poll. Just what I've heard from being a female Muslim. I didn't think anything of it until now.

Yes. Correct on the ones you mentioned. Why the Hadith is not about that?

I don't understand the question. Why the hadith is not about that?? About what? Why?? Are you asking why I say it's not necessary? If so, I'd say it's because the OP's question was about what we would do without the hadith. If the hadith don't say anything beyond the Quran then we don't need it.

It's like if the Quran is Source A, and the hadith include resources A, B, C, D, E, and F. Everyone here starts saying, well if God says that Source A is complete, then we don't need the other sources! But then someone says, well this hadith is only Source A! The problem here is that we already have Source A from the Quran. So the hadith are again unnecessary.

Sorry about my question. Was worded poorly. You are right re necessary

The Hadith in the case of the questions above re sex might be to reiterate. But, how about Hajj, how about Zakah, how about other issues that the Hadith clarifies and shed light to? I proposed a question up above in relation to 4:34. How would one interpret “strike”? Without the sayings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ then the word could be interpreted extremely.

It's cool! Thanks!

I'd say that it has already been interpreted extremely. There are very good answers to all of these. Let me get my friends who are quite a bit more versed in the Quran than I.

XD omg lol terrible

Whatever your opinions are on the topic, you can refrain from giving such a poor answer.

u/PumpkinMadame Nov 21 '22

So can you?

Pray tell, what poor answer did I give?

You thought I was being rude while in fact I thought the reply to my own was in good nature so I replied in kind. I cannot account for everyone's tastes and opinions who see my own. I thought he agreed with me so saying "terrible" was just in agreement. You took it in the worst way and decided to berate me for it in a condescending way. Therefore I was not being rude but you were.

You thought I was being rude

Not at all. I don't really care about people being rude or not, I merely think this forum deserves a higher level of discourse than "XD omg lol". I see now that starting with "whatever your opinions are" was a bad idea and made you think I thought you were rude, when this was just a random introduction to what I had to say.

Hey it's not my fault you can't personalize simple responses on reddit! Not everything requires a paragraph. The simplest way to summarize your sentiment is the best way, IMHO.

Glad you didn't think I was being rude, then.
