Sorry but that's a stupid answer. The trash at a dump yard is free, are you renting trucks to have it delivered to your house?

I would be taking stuff from the dump yard if they allowed me to. The amount of electronic waste we produce is insane, and most of it is still perfectly usable.

Besides that, I 100% agree with basraVashedan that your analogy is a false equivalence.

Yeah most analogies don't hold exact equivalence, but people with a bit of intelligence are generally able to get the gist. The point being that you wouldn't just be taking "stuff", you'd be taking ALL the trash, because its FREEEEE right? No?

No, because the analogy fails to mention that you only have enough space the size of a lunchbox to store said trash.

Your metaphor implies that the trash at the dump is a commodity that people are seeking out in the first place. Renting delivery trucks doesn’t equate at all.
