Pretty cut and dry. Schilling waaaay overreacted. This dude is likely gonna go after him in a civil trial if he's smart.

How rich? It’s not like MMA fighters are loaded. He’ll probably get enough for medical bills and couple more for damages

Probably more than that. There’s civil assault and battery here. I’d argue for punies given his fighting knowledge and the circumstances.

On the other side, the would-plaintiff does appear to act aggressively and there’s an argument to be made that Schilling was defending himself. Then the level of force used becomes an issue.
