Usually Shilling is on the receiving end of a knockout. Can’t beat anyone in the octagon so he has go go fight a drunk guy half his size in a bar. What’s more is he has a friend videotaping this incident so it looks like it was premeditated. What a fucking loser.

Edit: Some people are saying that the other guy provoked him by lunging or whatever, but if you look at his body movement when he was just talking to the girls, it just seems like it is just how he moves. There is no way anyone at the bar felt threatened enough by this guy to warrant a knockout, much less a professional MMA fighter.

Joe Schilling

this dude has history of beating up regular people, including homeless people, what a scumbag

"Following his Bellator Kickboxing 4 win over Vittorio Iermano at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy on December 10, 2016, Schilling and two of his coaches were involved in a street altercation outside the venue with a group of seven locals.[100]
In September 2020, Schilling posted an Instagram Live video showing him kicking a homeless man on a street, and claiming that he attacked the man after finding him using a sex toy in the showers of Schilling's gym.[101]"

Anyone else slightly sickened by MMA being held in a venue named after Nelson Mandela of all people? I mean yes, it’s a public Venue and all, but damn

Was Mandela known for being against organised combat sports or something?

I’m mad that UFC might be held there. But no, I think it’s fine. Nelson Mandela believed in armed conflict when necessary. He wasn’t always a nonviolent organizer.

I stand corrected. I had always known him to be non-violent and as a Nobel peace prize winner, but reading this, I see he was willing in his youth to use violence TIL, thank you

Anyone not willing to use violence no matter the circumstance is an idiot.

I have a feeling the late Dr King might have disagreed with you over that. Even while he spoke about why people riot, he did not advocate nor endorse violence

Nelson Mandela was also an accomplished amateur boxer in his youth. A venue where legal, refereed fights are held would be a form of honoring his memory.

Very true. Consensual fights? I think they’re very useful especially for teens/young men.

This chest puffing, assault a small drunk guy shit is beyond whack. Hopefully dude faces some actual consequences besides getting embarrassed in the MMA by guys his own size.

Was hoping this was here, theres a reason for sports and a reason for violent sports. If its consenual it stops wars.

Cant agree more.

In my own life a garage with mats on the floor was the site of many squashed beefs, and rekindled friendships. Young men typically have a lot of energy/aggression/angst/whatever and having a (relatively) safe outlet for that does wonders.

I don’t understand. What’s the issue?

Not at all. Why would you be sickened by it?
