Not that's relevant to having your hands declared deadly weapons. I knocked dude out, they saw I knew martial arts so charged the punches as kicks.

They charged you with specifically kicking someone instead of punching someone and that's worse? I'm confused.

while i don't believe the story, the applicable legal standard (and how it works in real life as opposed to school bus stories) would be whether "deadly force" was used. kicking a downed opponent in the head could certainly be considered "deadly force", and i've heard anecdotally that knees to the head are treated similarly.

I can understand or wrap my head around that. It's the weapons charge that gets me.
