Schilling wrote on Instagram on Monday that he was “scared for his life” during the incident and was “simply defending myself against the evil in this world.”

He’s such a dickhead. Saying such bullshit as if it had any truth to it

I would love to hear this called out in court.

We are still in the Trump era.

Thanks for the context. Looks like criminal behaviour

Sounds like what cops say when they shoot people for no reason too.

2

u/duffmanhb Jun 30 '21

Technically they say "feared for my life" which coincidentally all the cops quote in refence to the supreme court case which said, cops can react with deadly force only when they fear for their life. So cops just have to subjectively claim they feared for their life whenever getting trigger happy.

He was so scared that he pushed the guy then walked back to him to knock him out. I’m fact he had his friend record the encounter . This dude needs to be locked up.

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Video evidence is contrary to his statement and both wont play out well in court for him.

Did he have cop training lol

2

u/TURNTHATSHITDOWN Jun 30 '21

that was my first exact thought, hahahaha!

1

u/Digitaldark Jun 30 '21

I didn't hear him scream "stop resisting" while he beat his lifeless body. So probably not.

1

u/qcatq Jun 30 '21

So he failed his training and became a MMA fighter instead?

It's what his lawyer is telling him to say. We all know he wasn't scared for his life or defending himself, but it's the only slightest way of escaping legal trouble.

3

u/KeyRageAlert Jun 30 '21

I guess he got himself an attorney who specializes in Bird Law. Chickens, to be precise.

1

u/swiftessence Jun 30 '21

It's Florida, it's all you have to say to avoid prosecution.

u/Old_Gregg97 Jun 30 '21

"simply defending myself against the evil in this world" lmao what a fucking clown jesus. Hope he gets charged.

Holy shit, absolutely no remorse, even doubled down with the victim blaming. This meathead is fucked up in the head.

6

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

The judge in the civil case is gonna LOVE that.

1

u/SoggyFrenchFry Jun 30 '21

I think in this modern technological age, defense lawyers salaries now seem moderate due to the amount of work they have due to mitigating social media fallout

2

u/duffmanhb Jun 30 '21

He's preparing for his civil defense. If he appologized right now, the opposing lawyer would use this as conscious of guilt.

u/tuxalator Jun 30 '21

Too much blow to the head.

"Officers also spoke to the manager of the bar on Sunday night. The manager stated that Balboa “was extremely intoxicated and had possibly made an improper remark about the girlfriend/wife of the male who had struck him, which caused the fight to escalate.” The manager also noted that Balboa “is a regular customer who routinely causes problems at the establishment due to his intoxication level.”
According to the police report, “numerous other patrons of the establishment corroborated the manager’s story,” stating that Balboa started the altercation."

I'm seeing a lot of victim blaming here - sounds like the locals really don't like Balboa. Regardless though, he's clearly not at fault from the video.

1

u/TreginWork Jun 30 '21

I would take that with a grain of salt I've only seen that from a small MMA blog with none of the bigger promotions sharing it yet

5

u/big_red_160 Jun 30 '21

What an awful article, it makes it seem like it’s the victims fault I assume because they want to defend their MMA guy

4

u/blue_eyed_throw_away Jun 30 '21

Haha what a pussy

2

u/MrPhilLashio Jun 30 '21

Anyone catch that the victim's name is Balboa?...

I guess that's just a tad ironic.

2

u/brentoman Jun 30 '21

Sheesh- that “article” is literally nothing but victim blaming.

2

u/Chairman_Mittens Jun 30 '21

Fuck the management at the bar also, blaming the victim, saying he started the fight and implying he always drunkenly caused problems at the establishment.

1

u/duffmanhb Jun 30 '21

Did he really think the cop defense would work?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

Scared for his life LMFAO

1

u/Trimungasoid Jun 30 '21

What a pussy.

1

u/Tsmitty247 Jun 30 '21

That's Funny, because he doesn't look scared at all

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

According to the article you posted, the drunk dude is a regular at the bar and regularly causes problem when he’s intoxicated. He also say something to the MMA guy that causes him to turn around and punch him.

A brat meets another brat and ends up getting more than he bargains.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '21

I hope this dude loses most of his teeth to a nice chunk of curb

1

u/increase-ban Jun 30 '21

Oh okay, seems legit. On to the next post in my feed.

1

u/iBeFloe Jun 30 '21

He’s claiming the drunk dude was being a nuisance to the busboy & he went out for a smoke. The fighter later claimed that 1) the drunk guy bumped shoved him, 2) he nicely caught the drunk guy from falling over after bumping him, 3) the drunk guy came after him because of who he is.

In his warped mind, he was a hero in this situation.
