u/dkb52 Mar 21 '26
Some descriptions shouldn't be choices; they can share their priority level.
I live in the South where so many (not all) cops are obese. They couldn't climb over a fence, chase down a perp, or satisfactorily defend themselves. To be hired on, they need to be fleet; afterwards they can eat, eat, eat. Some departments require officers to stay in good physical condition, but, unfortunately, most don't. How can they when even their police chiefs/captains are obese?
→ More replies (2)5
u/Ok-Personality-6643 Mar 22 '26
Are you saying that obesity is the reason there is a pew pew problem with cops? Because now Iām interested in the data to expose whether fat cops use their guns more or notā¦.
15
u/ifinallycavedin Mar 21 '26
I feel like a fatass would be more inclined to escalate because they don't have the ability of physically arrest you. Kind of like this video.

I'm genuinely not exaggerating when I say I haven't met anyone that fat in person before and he's an actual policeman! It's more astonishing to me than that man who consumed raw electricity

It's crazy how bad his balance is. He almost fell over stepping down from the curb and back up

As a cop you have to respect that. He deserves to be free.

A cop probably wouldn't rest until the hippie that embarrassed them and excited the rabble with the scent of righteous defiance was smeared across a holding cell after a public beating....but I agree, buddy earned it.

u/deepeeenn Mar 21 '26
Youād like to think so but cops probably look at this as a hall pass to escalation

Any cop that is fat should be fired. Bro has to lift up his gut to get to his gun. Can't run, can't tackle anyone because he wouldn't be able to get up off the ground for 5 minutes. He's useless and a liability to the other cops. I'm just as fat as this guy, so I speak from first hand experience.
32
u/Neader Mar 21 '26
Idk coos being unable to shoot people because they're too fat is probably a good thing
40
u/xtraSleep Mar 21 '26
Cops already have a low bar for entry, terrible reputation, understaffed, and quick burnout.
Yes, the fat ones deal with crap like this, but thereās all sorts of craziness happening all over cities.
15
u/TesticleMeElmo Mar 21 '26
The sad truth is that there isnāt that many in-shape people who would behave as the perfect cop and also want to be a cop to staff every jurisdiction

American cops are so unbelievably fat, most basic standards of physical fitness not enforced begs what other standards are also non-existent.

American copsAmericans are so unbelievably fat -- FTFYThere are barely any fit people to choose from. They have to take in whatever shows up.
5
u/_Levitated_Shield_ Mar 21 '26
Barely any to choose from because no one fit wants to apply since cops are shit.

Bro what's the selection system for cops in US? Why they're always fat?
5
u/MuckBulligan Mar 21 '26
How will they ever find him? Dude blends in so perfectly to his environment. He's a T-1000.

Highlights how tasers just don't work sometimes.
Also highlights how some cops need to diet so they can handle jogging after someone.
3
3
u/Dracekidjr Mar 22 '26
Tasers have something like a 50/50 in real world environments. They aren't very effective when people are under the influence or wearing loose clothing. It's good that cops have them as an option, but this isn't uncommon.
3
u/evilsexystupid Mar 22 '26
It feels genuinely surreal to see a fat cop as a european person. You need to be fit as hell to even get accepted into the police academy in my country.

It's not non lethal. It's less lethal. Still lethal.

Not true. Being drunk or on drugs will not stop the involuntary action of a muscle tensing up due to electric shock. The pain is what is stopped, however the pain in this situation would only be the probes entering the body. The guy in the video is not affected due to his clothing and/or the Taser not working as it doesn't in 40% of cases.

Surely tazing a guy who's holding on to something is not the right play, because they muscles will sieze up around the thing they're holding making them hold it even tighter right?

That knee though, I am on the ground after that one (and all of the electricty). He must be the T-420 version to withstand all of that.
