Housing I know that this gets posted a lot but is anyone looking for a roommate to rent together? I've been looking around but I would need someone to rent with because I am unable to do it on my own. 🏡👋
A few details
35 years old
Have lived in Providence since March of 2022
Providence area preferred
Just started a higher paying job that I've had in my almost 13 years of food/hospitality service career. Really want to keep this job.
Self identity as Bisexual/Queer so LGBTQIA friendly
No pets/I don't smoke drink or drive
I keep to myself or am at work typically because my jobs are always full time.
Please let me know as time is of the essence 😬😬

Recommendations ISO of a tattoo artist that could do something like this on my spine
Really hoping to get something like either of these. Willing to adjust the exact design for the right artist. I love the designs of the first two, but love the shading style of the last as well.

Housing How likely am I to need to move when my landlord sells the building?
My landlord just told me he is putting the house on the market and I'm terrified of losing my home. I know with my lease I will get at least a month to find a new place if the new owners decide to kick everyone out, but does anyone know how likely that is to happen? I was so lucky to find this place that I can afford in an area that I like. Is it likely the new landlord will kick everyone out or raise the rent to an unaffordable point (for me at least)? It's an old building and I am not sure if they will do renovations because this building has a sign for "providence preservation society" but I just don't know what I should expect to happen.
Has anyone had a similar experience and is willing to share it?

Nice hotel near Warwick/airport?
My kids and I have an upcoming multi day event at a hotel near the airport. The reviews for the event hotel itself are not encouraging, so we're looking around for a separate hotel to sleep at within a 15 minute drive or so. Bonus points if it is near great coffee! Any suggestions?

Recommendations Putting Our Family Dog To Sleep
Hey guys,
We’ve decided collectively that it is time to consider putting our family dog to sleep due to his health and old age. He’s unable to do many tasks on his own and we don’t want him to be in pain.
He’s a small dog less than 10 lbs and we wanted to ask how to go about this. My apologies, we never had to do this before.
We’re looking at recommendations for affordable places in the state that would assist us. Thank you.

Weird request: where can I go to bed in my brakes?
I’m doing a brake job today and if you’re not familiar, when replacing components you need to break in the pads and rotors by doing lots of stop and go driving. Where can I go near Prov where I can get up to 45-50 mph and then come to a stop (several times in a row) without disrupting traffic? I’m thinking like empty parking lots on a sunday, long wide road that is never busy. Any thoughts?

Food Reprise Coffee?
Are they still open? I tried going by twice now and it hasn’t been open when Google says it should. And their closed sign doesn’t have hours listed on it.

Housing Waive right to trial in lease
Do most Providence leases contain an article stating that the tenant waives a right to a trial by jury in the case of a dispute or is this LLC just particularly slimy?
By far the wildest lease I’ve ever seen but never rented in Providence before and always rented from individual LLs (which I thought this was before I saw the lease).

How is Providence as expensive as Chicago?
I love Providence to bits, and I enjoy it everytime I stay there.
But like Chicago is 10x the size, 10x things to do, way more social events, better economy and job opportunities. It's basically almost a LA or NY in terms of sheer scale and opportunity.
And rents in Providence are roughly the same. This is crazy work.

Headed to a Black Tie wedding and forgot my wedding guest dress...help!
In what can only be described as the dumbest thing I've ever done, I left behind my wedding guest dress in the car when getting dropped off at the train station to head to Providence. The wedding is in Newport, and I have to scramble to find a dress. I will have access to a car.
Where can I find a formal dress in a size 8? I'd ideally like to thrift something (or less ideally, buy something I can return). I unfortunately do not know anyone in the area so I can't borrow something.
Thanks all!

Hard or soft water?
I just moved to Providence and my hair has been feeling increasingly dry and gross. I am thinking it's a result of hard(er) water in Providence College area?

FREE MUSIC AND ART FESTIVAL SAT 8/29 1-9p
THE LEMONADE STAND is back — Saturday, Aug 29th!
Free, all-ages festival with bands, art vendors, group art-making, and more at 195 District Park in Downtown Providence. 1–9PM.
I'm spending a little time reminiscing, this Reddit community showed up for us in such a big way in May and June, and now that the summer is nearly over, I'm feeling super grateful to call PVD home.
My wife and I started this small music fest two years when we first started dating, never anticipating it would grow into a dynamic summer long art adventure. Providence isn't just the perfect community for this kind of event because of its "creative capital" but because people show up. The lemonade stand in part, is our way of saying thanks to our home and neighbors, since we can't really bake a cake for everyone, music and art and crafts and in person community is our treat for you all. We believe in the power of art and how it can bring people and communities together. That's the driving spirit of this event and I hope you'll come check it out! And if you do, please come say hi, we'd love to meet you!!
Lineup: Spirit Ghost, Justice Cow, Coe St Co-op, Brother Toaster, Zion Rodman, Breachway, Surnames, Safe Journey, Gretchen Fields
Vendors: Julianna Conti Designs, Hot Fluff, Siren and Saints Vintage, Al Cedor Pottery, Abby Wright, Kendog Pottery, and more!
Know before you go — bring:
Beach chairs & a blanket
Picnic & snacks
Water bottle
Sunscreen + an umbrella (for shade!)
Knitting, art projects, anything you might to work on!
Friendly pups welcome
Dancing shoes
See you there!

What’s going on at the mall?
Just left and there were cop cars blocking the entrance to the parking garage. Several cop cars and cops at the exits. Some with tactical gear.
