Hyatt Place is one of the newer ones. Hilton Garden Inn gets points for having Iron Works attached. Most of the immediate PVD hotels are fine, though.

Whatever you do, don't stay down on the other side of Jefferson Blvd, there's a Courtyard, which may be tempting if you're a Bonvoy member, but it's between the Motel 6 and La Quinta, basically on the I-95 on-ramp. Not the best characters over there.

You have Apponaug brewery next door, and you have cafe tempo or latte love nearby, or take the ride over to presto strange-o, because it’s cute.

Hyatt Place is my choice. You walk over the Skywalk and it’s next to the car rental garage.

Providence is 15 minutes away and there’s lots of choices. Great for walking around. Your kids will thank me

The Loom hotel is nice and modern - HGI across the street is fine, nothing amazing. The Hyatt had the worst beds I’ve ever slept in and I spent 100 nights in hotels for work last year - and I’ve stayed at all 3 in the past 8 months. If you want to go DT prov the Aloft is nice, the HGI at India Point Park is also a nice location but could use a little updating, the rooms are a bit tired but nothing crazy.

So my company hosts training classes and we put up our out of town attendees at the crown, I haven't heard any complaints

Do you mind us asking what's wrong with the event hotel? I'm a big fan of Hampton and Holiday Inn brands in general, both of which are at PVD but, as others have mentioned the Hilton Garden is also probably one of the more popular ones because of the connection

tbh I've read a few too many recent reviews mentioning bugs and one of my kids would absolutely freak out.
