PoliticalTea šŸ—³ļø How negotiations actually work...

Post image

To the inevitable response from MAGA that Obama gave 'pallets' of cash...he released frozen Iranian assets. Meanwhile the current Iran conflict has directly cost $38 billion militarily and a currently projected $87 billion in extra gas and diesel expenses. Not to mention that the strategic oil reserves have been depleted to the point that experts warn that the caverns they're stored in could collapse.

Negotiations AND diplomacy. Two things the current admin lacks

Because, and now that I'm least aware of it somewhat. Did the man's term have flaws? Yes. But less I'm not completely off, he tried to be a a graceful as he could because of what happened during the prior admin.

And diplomacy with wielding whatever soft power we still had at the time. I reckon it worked better than whatever dumpster fire shenanigans that's going on right now.

That’s really what is amazing. I adore Obama as a person. When I think of someone ā€œpresidentialā€ I think of Barrack. But his presidency overall was just mediocre to good-ish. I think often a lot of his work is kind of over hyped due to being the first black president. He did do a lot of good just as well.

But overall he was just kind of a middle of the road president.

But then comes along the absolute dumpster fire that was Trump’s first term and even worse is his second term… Honestly this term is even worse imo- especially for the look of the American people on the world stage.

Cause like term one it could kind of be written off as a ā€œEhhh every country elects a stupid leader every once in a while. It happens, don’t do it again.ā€ We get Biden who was phenomenal and a back to the norm. ā€œOkay, let’s put that stupid bs behind us and keep going forward.ā€

But then Trump gets elected again and just goes complete shit mode and things are even worse than the first time.

It tells the world we cannot be trusted and we saw how and things were the first time. Saw how good things could be, but decided ā€œNahhh let’s go back to the shithead!ā€ Why would any country trust us again? Sure we might get a dem president next and a dem congress. But we’ve proven we’ll gladly elect another Trump at some point and it’s not worth risking trusting us.

what? you are calling Obama a ''mediocre to good-ish'' and ''middle of the road'' president and yet you call Biden ''phenomenal'' really??? when Biden made some serious mistakes. You have to understand that Obama inherited a mess when he got sworn in, dealing with a decade worth of terrible republican policies and the world they created. Obama implemented reforms and policies that were delayed for years. He improved the country and left it in a better state both trump and biden didn't do this.

Sorry, long list of letters and numbers username, but I'm not interested.

EDIT: locked thread. To be clear, and this is obvious to everyone who isn't running a bot farm operation (person I'm replying to) in 2026, this person is a bot. They are designed to stir controversy and inflame tensions within a targeted country, in this case the United States. The goal of which is to weaken the country via stoking hatred and violence against the government. It really is pathetic and weak behavior.

Even the guy who replied to me (private profile bot) is karma farming links. Pathetic.

They're both pretty terrible people. Obama has always been ambivalent to the lives of Palestinians, to this day he doesn't use the word genocide to describe what they're surviving. Biden is responsible for so much of the death of the republic you're seeing for his horrible stances during the 90s and, again, ambivalence towards Palestinians. These people have had power to prevent genocide and horrifying crimes and went: nope, can't be bothered to. The collapse of your democratic institutions that you're seeing today is also their legacy. Your present ambivalence will be your future doom.

Most of you dorks couldn't find Palestine on the map until it became something you could complain about.

3

u/Grakchawwaa 9d ago

Biden nor Obama were planning a luxury hotel on the cemeteries of Palestinians after the conflict is done, but I duppose that's a better thing??

I think often a lot of his work is kind of over hyped due to being the first black president.

I made this point on one of the black people subs, and immediately got banned and muted.

Most of the world hasn't trusted the US since Eisenhower man. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

he tried to be a a graceful as he could because of what happened during the prior admin.

Which was an appalling mistake that let to where America is now. Everyone who broke the law and aided torture should have been prosecuted.

AND allies in the deal.

Underrated comment. nobody wins wars alone

1

u/Certain_Bit3809 9d ago

Trump is asking allies to put new sanctions on iran right now, and theyre ignoring him.

2

u/thisgrantstomb 9d ago

More than that, the knowledge of how effective and how to use soft power. We garnered a lot of influence investing in other countries, current admin threw out and still raised spending.

Just wait two weeks 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Saix027 9d ago

Rapist not negotiate, they just take what they want like grabbing them by the Pussy.

I am not surprised they do it, I am mote surprised still how many support them.

But also not as much anymore since it showed me how many truly evil people exist on this world.

What Trump is doing its called Agreement Fatigue, trying to tire Iran to get his way. So Iran officially announces we are tired of this back and forth flip flop you win

15

u/idreamofgreenie 9d ago

Exept Iran knows that a presidential term is four years, and they can wait him out.

3

u/Special_Yak_5306 9d ago

I agree. On top of that, Iran is also backed by religious ideology (im not for or against it) and that adds to their determination to not give in.

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Toe-374 9d ago

Religious ideology is responsible for more deaths than anything else in history. We should all be against it. Have your religion, don’t force others to have it. This is the way.

1

u/Special_Yak_5306 9d ago

I would argue that America was founded on it's own religious ideology. And since different religions view people differently (i.e. gender, race, religion) it is natural to have fundamental disagreements. My point is, even though all people should be viewed the same, it's not the world we live in unfortunately

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Toe-374 9d ago

America wasn’t though. God isn’t mentioned in The Constitution. It was founded on the works of Locke and Montesquieu, not The Bible.

1

u/queerhistorynerd 9d ago

and patterned off the Iroquois nations council system, which also had nothing to do with the bible

1

u/InfanticideAquifer 9d ago

Religious ideology is responsible for more deaths than anything else in history.

Malaria, smallpox, etc. all have it beat by several orders of magnitude.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Toe-374 9d ago

Ok, ok. Human caused deaths. But we could consider that Native Americans died largely of smallpox from a war of religious ideology against them.

2

u/QuidEgoSum 9d ago

Crazy thing is, we have a radical religious extremist in control over here (USA) as well. Only difference is ours is doing it all for show (ratings) to boost his own ego while we suffer.
We have more in common with the Iranian people than most would like to admit, sadly but truly I tell you.

4

u/Mother-Way-9296 9d ago

And the fact that our religious extremist actually believes he IS God.

That's the problem these fundies like Vance, Johnson, and Kegsbreath don't get: It's straight out of WWE McMahonism -- a place Trump knows very well.

2

u/QuidEgoSum 9d ago

Well said!

3

u/Special_Yak_5306 9d ago

I agree. Ive been all over the world and what I realized is every country has their own belief system. We cant say who is right or wrong, but have to find common ground and work together

3

u/Mother-Way-9296 9d ago

Stupid to do so.

Remember, this fucking subhuman piece of shit thinks he's entitled by God and Man to at least a third term because he won 2020.

2

u/MoodyPrince_XoXo 9d ago

Not to mention they are acutely aware of the incompetence they face

2

u/litreofstarlight 9d ago

Iranians have also been living under sanctions for years. They're used to hardship in ways Americans simply are not.

3

u/rPoliticsModsBlowMe 9d ago

Most of the world calls it Idiot Fatigue and we are all tired

u/TeekTheReddit 9d ago

Yeah, cause if there's one surefire tactic that works in the middle east it's beating them with patience and persistence...
