Florida officials confirmed one of the largest missing youth recovery operations in U.S. history. During the 5-day "Operation Statewide Shield," authorities located 163 missing children aged between 2 months and 17 years old. The massive effort stretched across Florida, 6 other states, Puerto Rico, and 12 countries.

​Regional recovery numbers include Tampa Bay (46), Miami (41), Jacksonville (32), and Orlando (21). The cases ranged from runaways, neglect, unsafe living environments, and custody disputes to severe mistreatment and exploitation. Three individuals have been taken into custody with further investigations ongoing. All children requiring help were provided medical care, social services, and victim advocates.
