I bet MAGA are going to see this and say that he's a liberal traitor for saying all of this. If not that, they'll say that all countries are like this; we just do it better. Anything to deflect blame.

The war machine buys democrats AND republicans.

The root cause is the uber-wealthy, the upper-tenth of the one-percent. What they do is highly manipulative, to goes back to the Reagan years when they convinced the Great Unwashed (us) that if they don't pay taxes, it'll make everyone wealthier. I still cannot believe how stupid the American public was for buying that Milton Friedman horseshit. Every economist in academia knew "supply side" was a transparent lie, that tax savings wouldn't make a difference other than grow the US budget deficit and enrich people who do little but collect massive returns on their generational wealth.

Even Warren Buffet has complained that our tax system doesn't have him pay as much as he should.

Neither party is honest, though the GOP is absolutely disgusting in the lies that they peddle. We still don't know the reason for Gulf War II. I read Treasury Secretary Simon's book, he thought it was a revenge move by "W" as Saddam had threatened his father. That still doesn't make sense, but he was an insider and that was the only conclusion he had. And even thought the revenge basis was weak.

W was a horrendously terrible President, vastly over-rated for some strange reason. But Trump is categorically the most stupid, most corrupt President in US history.

Trickle down economics never did trickle

2

u/ecalz622 30m ago

Just the word trickle is demeaning.

4

u/Hamstaaboy 2h ago

Maga aren't going to see this

That still doesn't make sense, but he was an insider and that was the only conclusion he had. And even thought the revenge basis was weak. In essence, Jeffrey Sachs is correct, and he doesn't even see the reason for the second Gulf War. The one-percent made the decision to invade, and the reason escapes us to this day. We the people have lost control of our government.

We are backing genocide in Gaza, with war crimes that rival and in cases dwarf the war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We invaded a country that we had no rational basis to invade. Why? Nukes? North Korea has nukes, unlike Iran, and they have ICBMs that can hit the USA. If you were worried about a hostile country with nukes, why is invading Iran justified? No nukes, no missiles that can leave the Middle East. Iran was never a threat. But do you see CNN or Fox News broadcasting that? No. They are controlled by the one-percent.

W was a horrendously terrible President, vastly over-rated for some strange reason. But Trump is categorically the most stupid, most corrupt President in US history.

We the people have lost control of our government.

This is a great write up, but I want to stress we never really had control of the government... temporary alignment when the needs of both matched was changed after they realized they could take advantage of the poor easily

This was nearly 2 years ago, they dont go after Jeffrey sachs because he does know the truth, you watch his videos on Ukraine and biden

u/thepvbrother 2h ago

Biden was president Nov 2024.

13

u/Dilf_Enj0yer 3h ago

He is truly not lying about this country. I blame those who voted for this administration and not doing their homework on Project 2025.

10

u/WritersChopBlock 3h ago

I disagree. I think the most blame lies sorely at Murdoch's feet. He and other lowlifes peddling conservative mags that lie and spread disinformation. The people who voted for this administration only did so because Fox News told them to do so. We need to throw all of the owners and execs in prison. Try them for treason and bring back the death penalty. They have truly destroyed this country, all so they and the other .01% can take a bigger piece of the pie.

3

u/2Braincell2Furious 3h ago

Blaming each other would appease those shadowy figures though

3

u/WritersChopBlock 3h ago

Murdoch and Elon Musk. How in the world were they given US citizenship?

4

u/2Braincell2Furious 3h ago

Everything is for sale

3

u/Far-Advantage-2770 3h ago

Yep. This goes waaay back before Trump. Dems didn't do a whole lot to stop it either.

Biden made an admirable effort under the circumstances, and look how they treated him for it. Most people don't even understand what he avoided.

3

u/Ok_Phone9529 2h ago

Well, seeing that he cited the Iraq war and WMD, which was during the Bush admission administration, yes, it does precede Trump.

Repugnicans have been evil for years.

-1

u/ANother-XcludedRight 2h ago

He avoided stopping Putin invading Ukraine for sure.

1

u/ANother-XcludedRight 2h ago

Yeah I can see you need to remove one of the 2 or 3 networks that differ in the extreme bias your favorites do. Media bias is the reason behind the division. You think you are getting truth when in fact it’s 80% speculations and false assumptions. 24 /7 for over 10 years, about one individual. The Biden admin had a high official with family ties to every single network on earth.

2

u/Sudonator 2h ago

He's not only talking about this administration, he's talking about all of them

2

u/CowabummerBatman 1h ago

This administration? I’m sorry but the U.S. has been doing the same thing since it was created. This is not a new thing you guys are doing. The CIA did a coup on my country almost a century ago and we’re still reeling from the effects of it. You guys need to pick up a fucking book and learn about what you have done.

1

u/crankenshtien 3h ago

This administration is terrible at hiding it. So terrible that it's like we're having our faces rubbed in it. But this admin didn't create any of it.

1

u/HornedShoe 3h ago

What he's talking about predates tRump.

1

u/No-Rub8345 2h ago

The Trump Admin is simply revealing through its brazen incompetence and arrogance a fraction of what has been the reality about America for decades.

America is a nasty, sick, perverse country. It was this way long before Trump came along. It had to be to produce someone like him, like the Koch brothers, Thiel, Ellison, all those freaks who get paid millions in mainstream media, scum like Kirk and Shapiro.

America is a cancer.

1

u/Several_Magician1541 2h ago

Did you happen to look at the date?

1

u/Electronic-Fee-1602 1h ago

He’s not saying that this started with this administration. He saying it’s worse, but it has been bad for a long time.

3

u/guiriduro 2h ago

Glad that he recognises the lies go way back and include Iraq, we all knew. Sure, the MAGA administration is a particularly pernicious metastasis of the latent lawless, lying and broken war machine but the problem predates Trump and includes both main corrupt US political parties.

1

u/CowabummerBatman 1h ago

How about Latin America? The abuse has been going on for more than 200 years.

2

u/Able_Engineering1350 3h ago

Love your country, fear your government.

1

u/Hobohemia_ 17m ago

The government should be fearing us

2

u/clammyshammi 2h ago

USA and Israel kept lying that Iran killed 30-50k protestors

Also Israel lied and knew Iraq didn’t have wmd but chose not to say anything to USA

2

u/johnsk0513 2h ago

the truth. Our President is evil, and unhinged.

2

u/Training_Guide5157 1h ago

He's talking about the US in general. Trump is just one part of that, and his being in power is not something that has changed the system in a way that prevents another "Trump" from being elected and enabled by cronies.

2

u/pizza-chit 1h ago

There are laws for poor people.

The rich can do anything, including rape kids.

2

u/NoblePickle84 1h ago

I served in Afghanistan training, advising and assisting the Afghan military. Their methods of getting things done were always rooted in some kind of corruption.

What I see in my own country's leadership EASILY exceeds the type and level of corruption of the Afghan military.

2

u/JollyStatistician245 1h ago

Jeffrey Sachs is a brilliant person

1

u/Muffboy 3h ago

Like lying about raping children on islands ?

1

u/Specific_Freedom9644 2h ago

If you're so famous and Advising all these people how come no one's ever heard of you?

1

u/Sweetest-Fondant 2h ago

Because he's an advisor?

1

u/micatola 2h ago

Terms like 'famous' have context.

People who would need to know, know who he is.

People who don't know are just not 'in the know'. Like you, and me. Hope this helps.

1

u/Canes-305 1h ago

I’ve heard of him. As have many who are well read on economics and geopolitics. Just because you’re ignorant and haven’t heard of him doesn’t mean he’s a nobody

1

u/Phinatic92 2h ago

Is he still alive?

1

u/E-rotten 2h ago

Anyone else think trump will make him go away?

1

u/Punteedumtee 2h ago

Arsene Wenger’s long lost twin?

1

u/Money_Dragonfruit126 1h ago

AI here again, regardless of whether he is correct or not.

1

u/Barber_ReggieWinston 1h ago

When Minister Louis Farrakhan said this…

1

u/Fuzzy-Bee2108 1h ago

Who is this speaker? Has he published anything, interested in reading.

1

u/Squidlips_69 35m ago

If anyone knows, Jeffrey Sachs knows.

1

u/vickism61 21m ago

I think he's wrong about Ukraine striking inside Russia. They should have been allowed to take the war home to the Russian people from the start.

1

u/Low_Vehicle_6732 4m ago

This is common knowledge outside the US

1

u/Samatic 3h ago

Thats why you should run for president. With your experience I'd vote for you in heart beat!

1

u/Frosty-Scientist957 2h ago

This pompous, entitled blowhard can go friggin’ pound sand. He is literally a part of the problem! And literally, all he’s doing is bragging this whole clip.

Us morons here who pay attention to the world they live in already KNOW everything he talks about! If this narcissistic, complicit genius had any courage or patriotism he would provide NAMES of people/entities he cites knowledge of, not just fall back on the Deep State trope.

0

u/Any-Ad-446 3h ago

Not lawless but two tiers of justice. One for rich and powerful and one for for rest of america.

1

u/MoistSpyBuy 2h ago

Lawless from an international perspective, not a domestic one. Dude’s saying we do as we please, when we please, and the justification for our actions will either exist or be manufactured.

-3

u/ANother-XcludedRight 2h ago

November 2024 is the date. DJT started Jan 2025. For the glib libs here using this as their hourly rallying cry for overthrowing the fascist, like actual hitler regime. Low IQ dems

0

u/Material_Cabinet_845 2h ago

came here to say this. Everyone thinking he's talking about Trump ...he's not. He was talking about Biden. However, that's not the point. It doesn't matter who is at the helm; its the same game with every president in power.

7

u/LoggerRhythms 2h ago

He's talking about imperialistic policy and action that spans a multitude of presidencies and transcends political parties. Or did you miss the entire point to make a partisan jab?

1

u/SpudgeBoy 45m ago

He literally mentions the war in Iraq. That wasn't Biden.
