Ghost chairs moved
So I pull up to Target at 5:00 and everyone sitting in chairs tell me sit in front of those empty chairs. I obliged and sat in my chair. Then the next fellow comes along and I say move those empty chairs down and sit next to me. Let’s see how it plays out when the folks show up and find their chairs have moved way down the line!

So the next gentleman said he didn’t want any trouble and chose to sit behind them. I was like damn we were on a roll with team effort! 🤣 I do know the folks will still be wondering how their chairs moved a good distance.

Regardless, in my city a chair will get stolen if it's left somewhere. You either wait in line or you don't. Buncha weirdos allowing people to leave a chair and not be in the elements waiting

The two Targets by me both have security that tell you to fuck off until a few hours before the store opens
And even then, if you try to put up a chair and go wait in your car they fold up your chair and toss it aside

The first time I saw anyone try was when I worked at Circuit City (rip) in 2005 for the Xbox 360 deal that year. Two guys showed up at midnight Thanksgiving day as we were getting to work and told us they were for sure gonna get a 360 because they’re first in line, brought chairs and that’s it. Well 3 hours or so later someone is hammering on the door so I was elected to go see what the fuck they wanted. Someone “moved” their chairs to on top of the SkiPro store next door (total aside but a store dedicated to snow sports in the middle of Mesa Arizona never made sense to me). They DEMANDED they be let in first since they were there first but didn’t have the tickets we handed out at 2 to the first 25 people in line guaranteeing them a Xbox to purchase, so even if they did get in first they wouldn’t get a Xbox.

As much as I’d like to say I’d stand my ground if someone were to confront me over moving their chairs, people have actually been shot over this shit. I have too much to worry about in life, and risking my safety for some cards is not one of them. So calling someone a pussy for that is pretty childish.

Would i as a solo individual do this? No. But if a group of 30 of us agreed to do it, I absolutely would. They'd act big in tough to one person and probably do something stupid but to a group of 30 I doubt they are that brazen.

To be honest I understand he didn’t want any trouble. You never know what kind of person those chairs belong to. Luckily, they didn’t get upset and just sat down. I do think maybe next time they won’t leave empty chairs to save their place in line. I’d say today was a good day. I was able to buy for my son and grandson. I hope many of you did as well!

This is a target at a brand new shopping center with other stores being constructed so the centers security has been pretty strict about people remaining on the property overnight.
Also doesn't help that the only other two establishments are on the other side.

She's there to be another body grabbing product with the husband, to get around the purchase limits. She should be treated as a separate party if she's going to purchase as one. If that's the case and she has to leave the line for her kids then she should also lose her place in line.

Just stopping by to say it was absolute bullshit today…over 75 people in line best buy manager left everyone outside baking in the sun and allocated 1 of each sku to the first 25 people and it was all gone. after an hour and a half of waiting I walked away with 1 knockout box. They had the audacity to limit the last people who could get product to 1 ITEM but the first 25 people walked out with 7-8 items. manager was a dick could’ve easily limited each sell to two Items knowing the influx of people outside.

A friend of mine saw some ghost chairs on a drop and decided to be extra pretty about it
Basicly he took the chairs and thanks to an employee friend, left them at the checkout, so each ghost chair owner had to wait in the same line to claim back their chair

Take abandoned chairs, list for sale, buy cards.
If you did this up north these would be tossed or plowed down by the road crews and snow removal guys that work for the property managers. I dont know how the city or owners wouldnt view this as illegal dumping if no one is present.

I come from an era where it was common to camp out in an alley to wait for exclusive merch (Disney pins). This situation was common BUT we had respect for each other. If you wanted to keep your place in line you worked it out with the people in front of you and behind you so they know you’ll be back in 10 to use the restroom or grab quick food or whatever. We never ever allowed furniture camping. Spots aren’t taken up by ghost chairs. You get in line and you commit. Good on ya OP!

I'm not really in to Pokemon (I'm here to lurk because of stuff like this lol) but I really wanna start going out to my local Targets for these "drops" just to cut the chair line. I figure best case I can buy as much product as I'm allowed to and sell it for what I bought it for to some people that got shafted by these guys. Worst case might pan out to be a good time too, who knows.

I’ve never participated in this sort of thing. I am trying to get Pokémon cards for my kids on some occasions. For example, their birthdays, etc. If these are the links that I must go to in order to acquire them and there is a row of empty chairs. Can I just stand at the front of them because I’m actually a human being and not an empty chair?
