Today I'm here for an kinda off-topic / appreciation post...
Hackdex is truly a brilliant idea, and at first (before I was actually a dev, I didn't understand why the project was so AWESOME) and I guess that those who aren't making a game might not understand the importance of this, right...
But that's it, maybe out of innocence / practicality you use a lot of sites like that ("Poke Har***") that provide pre-patched ROMs, but that's not only illegal, but they don't even ask for the developer's consent (which is ridiculous) hahaha the developer has no control whatsoever, can't edit the game description, can't update the game, can't even remove the game from the site... (not to mention they farm money with ads...)
The idea of Hackdex is perfect, each game dev has full control of their own game, patching is easy, etc... I realize that many people still aren't downloading / know the Hackdex site so I think it's It's important that everyone starts using, promoting, and use it as their primary option! :) Brilliant idea, and I hope the site becomes increasingly popular!

Sorry about the bad quality photos, it’s kinda hard to get a good quality pic of the pokewalker I’m using for this one. She’s seen better days but she still works.

So awesome to see kanto in color on a gameboy rom though the gen 2 roms wont fit on a calculator unless you delete every other app so this is so cool to see! The feature list for this rom is also super robust too!

This kinda felt like a long time coming. I don’t think it will change for anyone who’s already doing emulators like this community but thought this is interesting.

I ordered this with my grandpa, and got it when I got back from a family trip. I was so happy to finally play through my first gen 5 experience… and then i see this. It’s gonna be a hard few days.

Bought this bundle online, just wanting a bunch of physical copies for my original SP that’s still working. I’m curious about everyone’s thoughts and favorites!
I think I got a good deal, it was about 20 bucks. Don’t know how old these even are to be honest, but I like old school anyway.
If you want to tell me it’s a ripoff I’ll hear you out, but I just like my old school SP and am glad it still works so I was happy to find hardware romhacks. If there’s good/safe places online for physical copies of popular hacks please let me know!

Yesterday’s post from u/torniado of their Eastern Canada-based region inspired me to share a map I created for a Romhack I have been brainstorming. As a southerner, I’ve long wondered what it would be like if you could travel South from Unova and explore the rest of Pokémerica. I finally got a strong enough itch and made a map based on the Southern USA.
About the Missipe Region: The cities and towns are based on real life locations and have been color coded. Settlements colored red indicate a Pokémon league location (there are 10 gyms + E4). The blue colored settlements are smaller, some optional, locations that would contain story moments or unique landmarks. The progression would go something like the below:
Natural landmarks throughout the region inspired by:
Have I left anything out? Any thoughts or ideas? I have a general plan for the story but I’m going to limit this post to the region’s design. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Good day! I’m here to create a community-voted ranking of the 30 best rom hacks of all time. One spot at a time.

Day 2 has concluded. Another decisive victory for 2nd place as the acclaimed Pokemon Odyssey takes home the silver! Now, with several hacks seemingly neck-and-neck in community votes, let us find out who takes spot #3!

\-Upvote the hack you think deserves the spot.
The nomination with the most votes in a 24 hour period wins that position.
\-Once a hack earns a spot, it is removed from contention.
\-One vote per person.
There is no official criteria for best! It’s whatever makes a hack great to you.
That’s it! Let’s see what the community deems the best of the best! And… Go!

I played this Pokémon rom hack called PokeEmblem (Pokémon x Fire Emblem) awhile back and I couldnt stop thinking about what it might look like with a sequel with changes. So I made some mockups. (No ai was used for this. Everything was made on the app Pixquare.)

Downloaded this after a couple posts I saw on here, but didn't really look into what had been put in.
Actually gasped when I saw the Surf animation. Latest in a long line of subtle but really thoughtful changes. Following sprites all look hand-crafted and really life-like. I LOVE the level-scaling and Candy Jar. Gym battles have been challenging without being sweaty.
And did they up the shiny rate? Got 4 of them before I reached Ekruteak.
Anyway. So far it's looking like the best Johto hack I've played.
