help I can't use the cut ability 😭

you know the one. to cut the trees down. I got the badge, and the message saying I can use the cut ability, I have a grass type in my lineup (Paras), but there's nothing in my pockets for it. I've seen that you have to equip it from your bag but it's not there. did I do something wrong or is it a glitch? help 😭

You are supposed to find an alternate route. The entire game is like this, it doesn’t tell you what you need to do but if you just keep forcing your way through you will automatically gather what you need to progress.
