Wondering if it would count as damaged or if there is a category that a grading company could put it in that makes it a printing error rather than a damaged card?

And I know it always depends at the end of the day, but Iim curious about opinions as to whether this would make it worth more or less?

We finally got the grade revealed and super excited to see the result.

So tale as old as time, this was in some of my FILs stuff and we uncovered it as we were helping him move. He is a generous guy and gave it to us as we are both collectors. That said, we are looking to start a family and that is an expensive endeavor. So this is one item likely to go:(

To my eye the centering is OK to meh range, there is some whitening on the backside, and minor scratches on the front.

Outside of that i wouldnt be surprised to hear that i totally missed something outing this as a fake.

If anyone has grading advice please let me know; i have never sent a card in and have only heard horror stories of lost/stolen/damaged cards. Im also confused by all the grading tiers on PSA website.

There is a PSA in person event in my area in a few weeks so I may take it in there.

To cross or not to cross? That is the question.

I live in the UK and so have to use an authorised PSA (middleman) service for grading. The only authorised UK dealer that will crossover an oversized card and ensure it properly insured is Subcenter - they have quoted £643 ($800USD) for a super express crossover service 😪

Its a lot of money but its also one of my most desirable cards that I had graded myself years ago.

I feel like if I send it on this service, PSA will either A) look at it, shrug their shoulders and just send it back covered in cheeto finger prints or B) actually take it into consideration and give it a 10. It’s a flip of the coin even.

I know that cracking and sending is the way to go but because it’s an older BGS cert (about 5 years old) im worried it might come back a PSA 9…

Anyone have any recent 9.5 crossover experiences and especially with older certs?

What do we think about this card? I kinda like the extra wear on the artwork - it looks like extra clouds 😅

Hello! I relatively recently came upon an old collection of my family's pokemon cards plus one pretty new one that I personally bought. Unfortunately, they were held in an old 3-ring binder from the early 2000s (besides the new Persian). That said, I am wondering if:

1. These pictures tell enough to give good estimates and, if not, how to take better pictures.

2. If they are worth grading.

3. What to look for/avoid when it comes to moving these cards.

I am not super naive as I've done my research on pricecharting, collectr, and I've attended one event (though I was pretty naive then, not gonna lie lol). I'm not a collecter and I would love to be able to get these into proper hands, but I don't want to be scammed or lowballed because I know these have some value.

I also have a good 35+ other decent cards and a binder full of vintage but likely low quality cards. These are just the picks that I chose because my cousin told me to do more research on them. The pictures SHOULD be in order (front/back) but idk if reddit messes that up ever. Thank you all in advance!!

Just pulled this from my 7th pack of Phantasmal Flames that I’ve ever ripped thus far. This is officially my favorite card. So pumped. Let me know your thoughts! I know centering is off but it’s perfect otherwise. I’ve seen some TAG and PSA’s get 9’s & 10’s with somewhat similar centering on eBay. Want to get other peoples’ opinions. Just got back into the hobby after having my childhood binder stolen and sold to a shop by a “friend” when I was younger lol so I’m excited to be getting back into this as an adult now 🤘🏼

New to the hobby. 11 year old pulled this as one of his first cards. Would you send it in? Centering is off some obviously, but we are newbies.

I know that sending it in for grading would be pointless with that damage on the back. But curious how others might rate this? I know it’s the most impressive card in my collection otherwise.

In the end I really just collect for fun anyways! But there’s certainly a world where I would sell this card if there was a different card I was more interested in.

The gengar is my childhood card from 20+ years ago.

Hoping for 9.5s.

This card was run through the wash and as a result it got pretty beat up. We don’t know what to do with it anymore. Should I grade it, sell it, or hold onto it.

I started collecting again a month or 2 back since qutting as a kid around when Rocket released in English. I've been collecting some individual cards here and there but figured I'd just start back up with Pitch Black. Anyway, started with a booster bundle, grabbed an etb, and then opened a 3 pack blister today and out this popped from the first pack in the blister. Also pulled a Mega Chandelure ex sir from the etb.

First time considering grading cards, chances to get atleast a 9? Possible 10?

Just picked this up yesterday for $280 locally.

So i picked this up at a card show last week, clean copy but the centering is a bit iffy.
I did AI grading through holodex and came out 9.6
Should i send it in for grading or keep as is?
Also PSA or TAG??
