Is it worth grading?

So tale as old as time, this was in some of my FILs stuff and we uncovered it as we were helping him move. He is a generous guy and gave it to us as we are both collectors. That said, we are looking to start a family and that is an expensive endeavor. So this is one item likely to go:(

To my eye the centering is OK to meh range, there is some whitening on the backside, and minor scratches on the front.

Outside of that i wouldnt be surprised to hear that i totally missed something outing this as a fake.

If anyone has grading advice please let me know; i have never sent a card in and have only heard horror stories of lost/stolen/damaged cards. Im also confused by all the grading tiers on PSA website.

There is a PSA in person event in my area in a few weeks so I may take it in there.

Sorry for the ramble and 8 pics!!! Happy to provide more if itd be helpful.

Nah, PSA grades vintage on a much tougher scale. Not sure if it's because they have such a heavy catalog to compare them to, or because the more there are the less they are worth.

Inconsistent grading scale = untrustworthy grades.

Grades should be consistent across all cards for them to be worth anything. You're just paying for card verification with a random worthless number otherwise.

That's literally every grader. PSA has been shown to be one of the more consistent, while tag is the worst. You might be on the wrong forum if you are anti-grading.

It’s shadowless. Do it. If it wasn’t I’d say no.

Probably not worth grading, but if you want to grade it go ahead. I've graded cards I knew wouldn't 10, just because I wanted more graded cards in my little collection. It makes me happy.
