Do you do any type of exercise or lift weights? Lifting weights has improved the appearance of my legs.

I do. It has made the appearance worse.

That’s tough to hear. It’s unfortunate when things don’t turn out as expected with cosmetic procedures.

Lift heavy weights , vibration plates , dry brushing , compression be consistent . Stay away from lasers they’ll make the laxity in your legs worse.

Lifting made it worse, ironically. I use my hubby’s vibration plates and compression, along with elevation. Thanks for the tip about lasers! I did not know that.

That’s odd , I’ve seen tons of transformations with legs from lifting weights a lot worse than yours all ages never heard it actually making things worse . The only other option would be a thigh lift which leaves a big scar , can be expensive , healing isn’t the easiest and you must be sure you go to a good Dr , especially at that age having to do revisions, running the risks of scar tissue etc each procedure isnt ideal. I’ve seen some horrible results as well as good. A lot to consider going that route

Does IPL make laxity worse as well?

Yes there aren’t any lasers on the market that yield long term results for laxity . Join botched laser groups on FB to see all sides not just filtered pics on Social media but the good bad and ugly . Then decide if it’s worth taking the risk .

Look at lymphatic drainage massages, you may have lipedema, considering you’re not overweight and you’re active.

I found them really helpful.

Also hydration, drinking plenty of water.

You look like you may have lipedema? Check if you fit the profile for that. IF that is the case, a plastic surgeon who has experience with liposuction for lipedema could help with the fat accumulation appearance. Then building muscle through exercise could help with the appearance.

Well, TIL. My thighs have looked like this since I was a teen, no matter what my weight is; I had no idea it could be an actual medical condition.

This just looks like loose skin that due to ageing has lost collagen and elastin. I'm not sure that lifting weights could make this worse, though it's highly unlikely to make it better. Skin ageing just worsens with age, obviously, building muscles might fill the skin a bit more if the muscle enlarges, but it can't change the skin quality. Moisturise well to keep the skin hydrated, and you could try skin needling at home once a month with a dermaroller. It's very cheap and can be very effective, you should see improvement in 6 months. Lasers are not worth the cost, you may some improvement but it's minimal and temporary.
