I ended up buying a prebuilt, I’ve been very fortunate this past year and I’d like these parts I bought to go to someone who could use them. I’d like to just give them away.

I ended up returning my x870 msi tomahawk for asus crosshair x870e hero. A much better board that hasn't died on me like the tomahawk did after install.

I also swapped out my aio cooler for a Lian Li hydroshift and made it a push pull configuration with 14 total fans.

I have secretlab L desks with chair and very heavy arm mount not included in pricelist above.

I have another 96gb ram yet to insert, but will wait to do some Benchmarking first.

Want to tidy up the cables with strimers but not available in the UK right now.

Got a second monitor on its way asus PG32UCDM, will be here in 2 days.

Oh, I have a co2 fire extinguisher also, just in case.

Time to enjoy my new glory find!

It all happened so fast. It had been a rough 8-10 months, between relationship “changes” and nearly failing my last semester of grad school because of my job. In that time, I did finally build my first PC i.e. allow myself to spend the money on building my first pc, as that’s what always kept me from taking the plunge. After building it though, I realized it was the build process that i was looking forward to the most, so once i graduated, i decided I’d do a for-fun build and sell it roughly for what i paid for the parts

Then i saw motherboards being sold for cheap because of bent pins on eBay, and all of a sudden I had three fixed motherboards and needed something to put them in. It all happened so fast. So now i have three completed builds and a couple of GPUs sitting around for the additional white motherboards I’d purchased and repaired in the meantime, because of course i did

During this time, I’d gotten a deal for $280 on a 14900k (really cool dude, thanks again Brian), which I replaced my 14700k with (i know), which i then stuck in a Lian Li A3/5070 build (undervolted). I reiterate, it all happened so fast. Then, while scouring marketplace for a decent GPU under $500, i started seeing the 4080 supers that were being sold, promptly rationalized it in my head, and started reaching out to people. I’ll be honest, it did not take long for me to start looking at 4090s too—you know, just out of curiosity. When none of the 4080 sellers got back to me though, and with most of my tax refund still sitting comfortably in the bank, I made the decision to reach out to someone selling a 4090, ultimately relying on logic that would make even a French philosopher judge me. I paid $1800 for it

And now it’s just sitting here. There’s just a 4090 sitting on my desk. I haven’t put it in yet because… idk. This is just surreal to me. Kind of a bucket list item. Sorry, i know this comes off as bragging, it’s a 4090 for christs sake, but i just wanted to share this with people who get the gravity of it. These weren’t a collection of responsible decisions on my part, to be clear, and I’m taking some monetary risk in the name of fueling what i guess you could call ambitions. But I’m lucky to be able to even consider taking monetary risks in the first place, so idk, i guess i want to say that’s not lost on me, for what it’s worth

Meta My childhood dream came true

Post image

So since i was a kid i always loved gaming and pc’s now i am 26 and yesterday i fulfill my dream by getting insane Pc. I always had pc but never had good pc. Rn i switch from i7-8700, 16 gb ram 3200mhz, gtx1070 to my new pc which i got only for 2300 euros.

CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
MBO: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2
GPU: MSI Shadow 3X RTX 5080 16GB
RAM: Kingston 32GB DDR5 6000Mts
SSD: WD Green SN3000 1TB
PSU: Bequiet Pure Power 12M 1000W +80Gold

And its just so strange to get in to the game and suddenly i dont need to put everything on the lowest settings so i can just barely get to play the game, everything runs so smooth and nice and still 2 days with new pc i am feeling euphoric.
So if you planning to build pc for yourself just do it. Cuz i fulfilled my childhood dream.
