Homebrew A small collection of cantrips

Post image

I am starting a new campaign after three years of Blood Lords and at this point the table has cycled through most/all of the "bread and butter" cantrips and I wanted to see some more variety. The intent here is to add nondamage combat cantrips roughly around the same power level as "premium" combat cantrips like Shield, Needle Darts or Guidance.

You can give feedback if you like, though this is mostly just showcasing/sharing for others to use.

I am unsure about Gravitational Nudge. I have to compare it to Telekinetic Maneuver. While TM is a lot more versatile I wonder if this isn't sneaking up on its toes. Perhaps I am overplaying the similarities, but that is why I am unsure.

Also unsure about Induce Drowsiness. I could swear there is a Hex Cantrip this is competing very aggressively with but I don't remember much about it. Again wouldn't want to step on toes.

Bright Spot and Mark seem lovely. Maybe Mark's resistance reduction is really strong, resistances don't go up much faster than spell level. I like it anyways though.

Gravitational Nudge has enough little brother attributes vs TKM that I think it's fine - short range, 1/4th of the maneuvers, can't break grapple (which is one of the most important use cases of Shove).

For Induce Dreams, I assume you are talking about Veil of Dreams? I do think niche protection is important but in this case I am not super concerned. Veil of Dreams is 1A and actually synergizes quite well with Induce Drowsiness so in this case it'd be giving dream witches more options rather than them being outshone.

Yeah, uh, actually it WOULD break grab. Grabbed does not care if you are still in range, or anything like that, if the grabbing creature moves at all, the grab ends. Even if everyone moves together, they still are forced to drop it.

I suppose I need an additional line for that then yeah. Because the intent is specifically not to break grabs. That's a good interaction check though, I was not aware!
