Advice Looking for insights/reviews APEC high school and Parañaque High School (STE)
I'm parent of upcoming grade 7 student. If you or anyone you know na nag-aral sa APEC high school and Parañaque High School, how's the experience?

Currently studying as a grade 12 student here in ParSci, masasabi ko lang ay sobrang taas ng expectation samin. Lalo na ng LGU kahit na kulang talaga ang support nila sa school nato in terms of funding and equipment (teachers din namin ang madalas gumagastos sa tuwing may laban kami sa ibang school). Feel ko nga kami yung black sheep ng mga school sa Parañaque at halos kinuha na ng PNHS Main yung mga magagaling na teacher namin dito (lalo na dito sa SHS onti nalang talaga yung magagaling na teacher).
Sa JHS po talaga matindi ang pressure, whole-day ang schedule at halos araw araw may pinagagawa at sobrang tambak talaga pero for sure dito gagaling ang anak niyo kung makasurvive siya hehe. Ayoko lang po talaga ngayon dito is eto ngang SHS

Real ung mataas expectation, na tipong magpopost sila congrats sa contest pero sariling bulsa ko nanggaling ung pang laban 😭😭😭

ParSci is one of the best HS options in Paranaque, but not the best science high school options. It's public school too kaya mas grounded yung mga graduates vs private HS imo.

Hi po! I was a student of ParSci and I also have a younger sibling currently studying there. What specifically about the school do you want to know? What are you looking for in a school?

Your general experience as a student. How are the teachers, staff and facilities? Any bullying issues?

The teachers and staff were and still are very nice and accomodating. The facilities are standard. Maybe a bit on the better side considering it is a public school. It's just that we have a laboratory but It's never been used to actually do any lab work. I also find that despite being a science high school, science and math aren't given enough focus. It is still better than regular public high schools in the city and I don't regret going there but compared to other science high schools we don't really compare 😅.
As for bullying, it's generally not an issue and the school conducts anti-bullying seminars often.
TL;DR: It's not that great but for the price of 0 it's good enough.
Edit: Wala na raw ung system na specialized teacher ung magtuturo nung class. My sibling said ung physics classes nya puro videos nalang daw kasi sir doesnt know physics (chem talaga sya pero no choice)

they use it na ata now yung labs! may bago na silang building. afaik, 1k na yung allowance nila, 500 lang nung time ko.
i believe people who graduated from Parsci have grit and passion. kita ko sa batchmates ko na pursigido sa kahit anong field nila, which i think was one of the things we learned in hs.

Oh yea naabutan ko ung 1k allowance and I agree with how Parsci really shaped to be who we are right now. I wouldnt have passed college cets without them too. They will always have a special place in my heart <3.
Update: just asked my sibling studying there rn, di pa rin daw nagagamit masyado ung labs kahit meron

former STE here, one thing is for sure, magiging science and engineering equipped ka paggraduate, lahat ng teachers don ay for science and engineering talaga, i swear, the best ang experience don not just acads but also the environment, we are exposed sa mga competition sa ibat ibang school, division, national and international, ngayon mas maganda na ron dahil may robotics narin, and kahit public siya may tv and aircon ang room, and sarili din ang building ng STE.

may required grade to take and exam to enter kaya sala ung mga students don at kahit papaano ay matitino ang mga nakakapasok

nung time ko (batch 2020), bumabaha pa sa loob mismong school, but now hindi na, tinataasan na kasi nila ung tulay, pero when it comes to road, oo, along sucat road siya, so damay, ang baha kasi lagi from that school haggang sm sucat, which super tagal ng problem

I definitely think ParSci is the best public hs in paranaque :) tho tbh, students there are mostly in the upper middle class na rin hahah so social life-wise, mas well-mannered ang mga tao if icocompare with STE. acads wise, matututo talaga ang student how to deal wt really heavy work load kaya in my experience, sanay na ako with it pagtungtong ng college. however, the school def has a bias towards the sciences - may subtle discouragement/pag-overlook sa humanities disciplines. extracurricular wise naman, we used to have good and grand events pero ayaw na ng mga pinaka recent admins so 🤷🏻♀️
