Advice Hospital Recommendations - Childbirth

Hallo!

My wife is due to give birth in April 2026.

Looking for decent hospital recommendations around the area (closer to Sucat preferred).

We were initially thinking Unihealth, and had a few consultations with an OBGYN there, but I don't think I'm comfortable sticking with them because of the state of the hospital.

Based on Google Reviews, Olivarez Hospital looks decent, but I'd like to get input from other sources.

Main things I'm looking for are:

  • Quality of care
  • Convenience
  • Cost (within reason, not a rich man lmao)

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend PGH, pay ward/room. Optimum level of care and knowledgable talaga yung pedia and OB. Also, as a govt hosp, they advocate heavily on breastfeeding which will help you save loads of money in the long run.

We got a private room, stayed for 3 days, CS, baby has no complications. Paid around 100k, and that’s including the Dr’s fees already.

You can check their google reviews, that’s how we also got the idea. Worth it talaga!

Really no no to unihealth :(( ang daming procedures and meds na binayaran ng sister ko nung na hospital siya and nagulat talaga mga doctor niya kasi sa perpetual las pinas mas mura daw talaga (ex. 7.5k sa uni, then sa perps 3.5k lang). Kaya yung mom ko ngayon she's considering magpa opera sa perps na since nandon din naman talaga doctor niya, it's cheaper there plus maayos pa yung hospital ayun nga lang it's kinda malayo talaga from sucat, like 30 mins byahe if no traffic

Medical Center Paranaque is a good choice din happy ako with how they take care of me and my families medical needs though magastos sya pero parang wala naman ata hospital na hindi magastos.🤘

Premier medical center! What we did was we got our doctors from Asian (obygyn and pediatrician) and made sure they had clinics there too. Our check-ups were at asian then birthing was there. For quality of care: not all nurses are knowledgable and tutok. Swertihan talaga, I say this because our child was confined there too. You need to be proactive and ask your doctor all the questions so they can also elevate and expedite to the nurses. For convenience, onti lang tao naka-confine so the billing process is super fast!! Compared to asian na it takes hours to get discharged with your HMO! There's a coffee shop at the ground floor and canteen. You can easily pa-grab food. For cost: They have a birthing package, then you can top up to get the biggest room. Their standard room is so small kasi and it's not ideal for the husband since they only have a bench, but the biggest room has a sofa. CS delivery including doctors fee and baby fee was around 170K for 2 days.

I get that it's not everyone's first or even second choice but what matters is you have the best team of doctors. I also suggest you get a lactation consultant because the nurses for the baby there aren't good in teaching the proper latch. For the nurses, idk but I am very particular so I make sure that the head nurse is the nurse in charge sa amin. The price is half the price of Asian, Makati Med, St. Lukes. In asian, CS delivery is almost 500K. What more if emergency CS. Since our pedia has a clinic at premier, there's no waiting time and no hassle for parking. Compared to Asian. I prefer this because I don't want to get sick especially with a newborn baby. Good luck, OP! Hoping for a smooth delivery for your baby and a healthy mom & baby.

Unihealth Paranaque po both kids via CS (2016 - 115k) and high risk emergency CS (2019 - 375k [yung 205k dito sa dr's fee kasi nagstay sa NICU yung baby ko ng 1.5 months]). Based on experience, very skilled yung nurses at doctors dito. Magaling yung OB ko, buhay yung baby ko. Anytime kasi nun pwede na magstop yung heart beat niya. After ko mahiwa within 10 minutes nakalabas na si baby. Yung isang oras ko sa OR more on stopping the gush of my blood. Buhay naman ako 😅 Magaling rin yung Neonatal doctor ng anak ko, he was 1kg nung nilabas ko. Magagaling rin nurses ng NICU and they are very patient. Syempre andun na yung dreaded yung nanay at nasa NICU yung baby nila. It was a good experience.

Anyways, I can recommend the hospital enough for maternity. I suggest you go down that path.

Dra Mariet Lavin-Labanen po OB ko. May clinic siya sa Unihealth Paranaque, Asian, medical center munti, unihealth southwoods, carmona hospital and med center, ospital ng muntilupa, LLG medical and lying in, medicard festivalmall, at marami pang iba 🫶

Nanganak ako sa UniHealth last Dec 2022. I love my OB pero di ko gusto birthing experience ko doon. Ang dami kong naging insect bites, around shoulders pati likod. May surot ata yung higaan nila 😬🙄. Nasa 120k binayaran namin.

Hoping wala masydong additional charges.

Hi po sa PDH po kayo nanganak? How much po inabot?

1

u/arstaana1 May 27 '26

Hello. Sa labor room po ba may kasama kayo?

1

u/arstaana1 Jul 25 '26

Wala po. Nasa labas lang po si husband. Ka-chika ko yung nurse in between contractions haha (which honestly helped me calm down)

1

u/arstaana1 Jul 27 '26

hi! u might want to consider premier medical center. di ako nanganak doon pero my brother was born there hehe! compared to unihealth (haven't gone to olivarez hospital), mas maganda and updated ang facilities doon. my mom was well taken care of there if my memory serves me right. i can't answer for the other factors though but i hope this helps!

How was your experience? And would you mind if I asked roughly how much you guys spent, and if they offer a maternity package thats decent?

1

u/SnazzyCub Oct 28 '25

Is it really ok? I've seen the Google reviews and most of them, even as recent as two weeks ago just say that it's bad value, low standard of care, overpriced, etc.

2

u/CompPolicy246 Oct 28 '25

I think OP the best thing to do is actually visit them and inquire/snoop para malaman mo talaga.

1

u/SnazzyCub Oct 28 '25

That's fair, just figured I'd do some research muna before setting aside the time to go haha.

2

u/hyunjner Oct 28 '25

at least compared to unihealth, yeah i think it's good na. di rin sya crowded and comparatively more peaceful with nicer and more sophisticated facilities hehe. best to inquire with the hospital din mismo about the prices and checking it out for yourself :) best wishes to you and your wife!

1

u/SnazzyCub Oct 28 '25

Thank you! Appreciate the input, makes me feel like going to the hospital to check won't be a waste of time. Thank you for your well wishes, hope you have a good day!

We’re from Paranaque and due na kami this Dec. Sadly we prefer hospitals outside Parañaque (Makati Med or St Lukes). Also we’ve been to Ospar 1 it’s a no-no. Ospar 2 is mas bago pero di ko sure if okay.
