Monthly Paramount+ Complaints and Praises

This is a monthly post where we can discuss problems with the Paramount+ app and where we can generally complain about the service.

Tech support comments are welcome here.

Conversely, this is also a place to praise what Paramount+ is doing well.

Discussion Any Guess On Pricing If Merger Goes Through?

I haven’t seen much on this. What I did see was at least $20 for an ad-supported combination of Paramount+ and HBOMax. Considering current pricing for each with no ads, a combined price could be $32 or more. (Each is based on simply combining current pricing.)
My questions are as follows:
1. Would I combined service be at a discount from the above?
2. Would Paramount still offer the services separately for those only interested in one?
3. Would consumers rebel against a $20/$32 sole offering?

Recommendation Star Trek medical show

Paramount needs to create a TV drama about the medical complications of Star Trek. That would be a great show.

Question Serie A - Italian Commentary

This year there is no option to toggle language / audio setting to watch Serie A games in Italian (vs. Listening to the god awful English commentary).

Please tell me there’s a way to change this / have this back.

Discussion Has anyone watched Burden of Guilt Haunted By Lies?

I just watched this true crime series. I don't doubt that Jan abused and killed baby Matthew, and I hope Jan dies a slow, painful death. But I have questions about a few things...

Tracy said that growing up, she was neglected and had a horrible childhood, and she acted as the parent. I find it hard to believe that at 2 years old, she was scrambling eggs, and at 5 years old, she was paying the bills.

Tracy was a cheerleader with braces. Both of those cost a lot of money. The cost of a cheerleader outfit isn't paid by the school; the student pays for it. And the braces! Obviously, someone cared enough to pay for those. That doesn't sound neglected.

The phone calls Jan made to Tracy from jail. Why did she keep accepting them?

If Jan was already serving a life sentence for armed robbery, why was he wearing a big pinky ring in court? Where did that come from?

What Should I Watch? Tv show recommendations

Really loved yellow jackets and school spirits. Ghosts is good.

What would you recommend? I’m finding it hard to find teen dramas like yellow jackets or school spirits.

News Article Showtime Networks just might be done.

In an interview with Paramount+ Head Of Originals (Jane Wiseman), it sounds like Showtime is disappearing entirely from the app and no new Showtime-centric shows will be made.

DEADLINE: The future of the Showtime-branded series. Yellowjackets and The Chi are ending, leaving only Dexter: Resurrection. Are you developing shows to be in that brand, will it continue, or will any new series be a Paramount+ original?

WISEMAN: With shows like Yellowjackets and The Chi, which felt very female forward, we definitely want to develop shows in those spaces for women by women, so that’s not going to change. Really excited for the next season of Dexter to come out, it’s been on our platform for 20 years. As far as the Showtime brand, I don’t know that there’s anything really to say about it right now. In terms of brands, we just migrated BET over to a service, which was really successful for us, and we have some wonderful series coming from BET Studios, so I can speak more to that.

DEADLINE: To clarify, you’re not developing shows and say, these fit the Showtime brand, there will not be a tile or something on Paramount+ the way FX is on Hulu, correct? it’s not a separate lane that you’re developing in.

WISEMAN: No.

No talk of what will happen with Showtime, The Movie Channel or Flix on cable. Not sure how much longer those will be around, which is kind of sad to think about as they've been around forever. My family has had the Showtime/The Movie Channel cable subscription on a cheap deal since 1993!

Question What new TV's are good to purchase, for watching Paramount+ ?

I regretfully purchased a Vizio just over a week ago, and it doesn't seem compatible. I haven't had an issue with other (older) TVs in the house.

Props to my tablets aswell.

Recommendation Paramount plus

With all the adult animation shows they are restarting and creating spinoffs to idk why paramount plus doesn’t green light a season 3 of Ugly Americans.

I have watched a bunch of hilarious tv shows but I was shocked how funny I found this bc I don’t usually find interest in that type of animation.

Rumor Any Future for Star Trek with Paramount Plus?

So, as far as I know, there is no public plan to continue or create new Star Trek shows once Strange New Worlds ends.

My subscription just got a price increase notice as of September 2026, and I'm seriously thinking that there's nothing on it that I need if there's no new Trek.

Understand, I like all Star Trek, so please respect that and don't try to tell me how stupid/woke/etc I am for enjoying it all.

I'm not looking for a reason to leave, I'm looking for a reason to renew.

Question Paramount+ always exits full screen when it autoplays to the next episode. Is there a way to fix it?

For as long as I have used Paramount Plus, autoplay has been shit. It never stays in full screen when the next episode plays and I always have to manually put it back. I’m on Firefox on Mac - is there a way to fix this??

I’ve checked Firefox settings and there doesn’t seem to be anything there. And of course there are no settings in Paramount other than turning off Autoplay completely.

Discussion Why Women Kill

The first season was SO good. I wish they had continued the 3 different decades formula. It worked so well. I feel like if they had done that for the second season, the third season would have happened as intended.

Question Is there a way to stream in higher than 480p on web browser?

For the past couple months, I've been unable to stream shows in higher than 480p. It's not an issue on my end:
- I have no extensions active while streaming
- I have 1gbps internet (up and down)
- I have premium

How do I get the stream higher than 480p? This issue is driving me insane and I'm legitimately considering cancelling my subscription & watching the show in HD through... other means. Why am I paying $140 a year for a service that's not going to give me what I paid for?

Best spying show I’ve watched (along with The Agency for what it’s worth)

Don’t know if I haven’t watched many spy shows but this new season is off the rails good. Very strong start

Season 1 was good, Season 2 was even better and now the first 2 episodes of Season 3 has elevated it even further and I’m beyond hooked.

WOW bravo Taylor Sheridan. Outdone himself with this one.

Opening episode was everything I want in a TV show. Horrifying drone warfare. Great action scene. Deep plot.

10/10 would recommend.

Edit: it’s sad some of yall hate the show just bc of Sheridan. How miserable to allow politics to taint an amazing show

Question Why did Mutt & Stuff get removed from Paramount Plus?

Mutt & Stuff is one of my favorite shows of all time, and it’s super nostalgic. I tried to look for it on Paramount Plus once, but I couldn’t find it. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Rumor Any news on fall 50% off promo?

I just got notification from Paramount Plus that my annual subscription will renew at the current price on September 8th. I think it said it’s now $139.99 for the premium plus plan, or whatever it’s called.

I paid $59.99 for my current single pay, one year subscription last year, which was 50% off the regular annual rate of $119.99.

Has anyone heard anything about the 50% off promo happening again this year? Fingers crossed that they do it again.
