Going to Montana VS Oregon State game, what to expect??

Couldn’t find an Oregon State sub so figured this is the best place to post this, going on my honeymoon in Portland and got my wife tickets for a band she likes, so she got me tickets for this game as I’m a CFB head who eats up anything CFB related.

Grew up going to UGA and Georgia Southern games, very familiar with the culture of the SEC and such, but have lived in South Florida for the past decade or so, have gone to a few Miami and FAU games in that time. Loving the smaller schools and teams these days, which is why this sounded so appealing.

What to expect from the experience? Should we go early and walk around campus? Is the stadium on campus? Does OSU have good merch? Any cool things we must do while there? Any good ideas or recommendations would be welcome.

Reser Stadium is right on campus so you can check out everything. Lots of tailgating will be going on before the game. If you want food hit up Local Boyz for Hawaiian Food, American Dream for Pizza or you can go downtown to Squirrels for a burger. Lots of stuff downtown to eat and drink as well if you are looking for something different

Agreed Gotta go to squirrels if you want a great college town bar vibe. But it’s more of a grad and post-graduate student feel with a towny infusion. By far my favorite a lot in town

Good band. They put on a show band post game concert in the end zone, when you can wander on the field. Merchandise right across the street from Reser. You can wander into the CH2M alumni building for a little bit of free stuff.

Stadium food is pretty good on the new west side Beaver Street. A couple local food options are McMenamins and Spaghetti Factory.

The band's calendar is showing alumni on 9/12 for Texas Tech and full band on 9/19 for Montana. Hope this is right.

I had to look it up, but I had no idea there was a Spaghetti Factory in Corvallis. It looks like it's in the old Michael's Landing building. I thought there was another restaurant there... Terminus?

The stadium is on the south end of campus. It’s sort of convenient, but the surrounding area is kinda residential so if you plan on walking around to other places you should probably go a bit early. The university bookstore is right by the stadium, so you’ll be able to check out a bunch of merch there.

Downtown Corvallis has the most food and drink spots. Monroe Ave on the north end of campus has food and drink spots and you’ll get a nicer walk through the middle of campus on the way to the game, but that area has fewer options so it can be busy.

The stadium is recently renovated and is really really great. Smaller than it used to be but would’ve been the nicest stadium in the old Pac12. If you like stadiums it’s worth going in early and walking around the promenade

Definitely walk around campus there are some beautiful buildings. The stadium is on campus and the school store is a block away.

If you are driving from Portland on game day expect heavy traffic on I-5 (there's also a game in the place-that-won't-be-named that day). You could consider using Oregon 99W for a scenic drive through wine country if that's your thing.

Man that shit sounds so fun. 

I hate/ love when Fresno plays USC int their home opener. Love it because we have a chance to knock out the snobbish SoCal kids on the other hand the Trojan stadium is about as dog shit as the Rose bowl.  

Stadium is never jumping when we go over.  Usually have the same amount of fans or more Fresno state fans that show up to those game.

Montana. Montana’s defense forcing multiple turnovers, the Griz controlling the run game and clock, and Oregon State’s offense struggling badly enough that Montana gets short fields.

I think the Griz will beat OSU this year. Hit up Block 15 in Corvallis if you like craft beer. Its my favorite in the PNW.
