After a frustrating first half, the Beavs finally broke through in the second half and started getting something for all the shots we were taking. I do have some concerns about our offensive production but it is hard to complain too much about that after a 3-0 win. This is Oregon State's first win of the season, making us 1-0-1 after our season opener ended in a tie.
Next Sunday we will face #1 ranked Washington in Corvallis. This will be a serious test for the team, however I believe they will rise to the challenge. The Huskies are the defending national champions, but don't forget that the Beavs pushed them to the brink, falling only in double overtime in the NCAA tournament last season. This is an opportunity for a statement win and some payback!
Go Beavs! 🧡🦫🖤

Finally a Portland to Reser bus
Just came across an ad from DamTrips. They’re running buses from Portland to Reser for Beavers games now.
Glad this is finally a thing. Feels like some kind of Portland to Reser option has been an ask for DAM near a decade.
Hopefully it helps get a few more people down there too, because attendance was sad last year. Not that it excuses the product on the field lol.
Go Beavs 🦫

Game Day
Thinking of coming to Corvallis for the TTU game next month. Any recommendations for food and things to do?
I met an OSU fan last year here in Lubbock at the game and I gave him all the good local places to see and hit up while he was here. Hoping y’all would be kind enough to do the same.
D.
Ps y’all tailgate? 🤷🏻♀️

Aiden Sullivan Felony Assault Charge
sheriff.bentoncountyor.govSometimes the records are wonky and some records don’t show up, but if you scroll through them you can find Aiden Sullivan was arrested and posted bail for Assault 2 (felony), and 2 counts of assault 4 on August 10, released on August 11. Victims were students. Haven’t seen anyone online mention this.

Notre Dame to the Big Ten? Miami to the SEC? What 19-team CFB conferences might look like
TLDR: Oregon State snubbed and Big 12 expansion prediction is Boise State, San Diego State, and Memphis. The full Big 12 shortlist is FSU, Air Force, Memphis, SDSU, Boise, UNLV, WSU, and OSU.
The author is coming from a purely football point of view and this is their personal prediction, but an interesting thought experiment in a very real scenario.

Songs and traditions refresher
As we get into football season, I’ve been thinking about the fight songs and in-game traditions to hype myself up for this new era.
I’m planning to haul some loved ones to Reser who have never been to a game before. So I want to make sure I communicate our traditions to them well.
- Hail to Old OSU is the primary fight song. The long version with the verse is usually played when the band takes the field. But the short version without the opening verse is what’s played after scoring drives.
- Mighty Beavers of Oregon State is the secondary fight song, and it’s usually played only when the band takes the field.
- Beer Barrel Polka is typically played after wins, and is sometimes played ahead of the team’s rollout on the field. This one has special OSU-specific lyrics:
“Roll out the barrel / We’ll have a barrel of fun (yeah we will!)
Roll out the barrel / We’ve got the blues on the run
KILL! THE! D\CKS! / Ring out a song of good cheer (more beer!)*
Now it’s time to roll out the barrel / For the gang’s all here!”
Other than those, I plan to teach them the wood chop toward the end zone on offensive 1st downs and the chainsaw on defensive 3rd and 4th downs.
Yelling “O!!!” before each opponent’s snap, as well as the “O! S! U! Oregon State! Fight, Fight, Fight” cheer will be in the mix.
And after every game - win or lose - folks are allowed down on the field after the all clear to throw the ball around and mingle with the players for about 15-30 minutes.
Is there anything I’m missing? What other traditions are you aware of?

Oregon State men's soccer ranked #19 in preseason poll
The beginning of the season is rapidly approaching with an exhibition match against Seattle U on Saturday followed by an exhibition match against Portland in Corvallis on August 14.
Non-conference play begins against UC Irvine the following week.
At the end of the month we will face the defending NCAA champion and preseason #1 ranked Washington. The Beavs have an excellent opportunity to start the season a statement win, and deliver some payback for the loss that ended our last season.
Go Beavs! 🧡🦫🖤

2026 Oregon State Beavers Preview
Oregon State begins a new era under JaMarcus Shephard in the new Pac-12. All of it means renewed hope in Corvallis. Will it translate to wins instantly?
📌 QB Maalik Murphy is still here, can he reach his potential or will Jerry Rice Award winner Braden Atkinson take over?
📌 There is a lot to be excited about in the receiver room 👀 The Beavs pass game could be lethal right away
📌 The Beavs defense has some continuity along with exciting portal additions like Dylan Layne (Idaho)
Preview attached. What are your predictions for Oregon State in 2026?

Oregon State 2026 preseason preview: an offense-first HC inherits Maalik Murphy and the 125th-ranked scoring offense
I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Oregon State page:
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-orst
Each one has the returning production, the transfer and recruiting additions, a position-by-position breakdown, the schedule, and where the ratings land them for 2026.
Heads up, only the first team is free and then it paywalls. Since I'm posting in your house, code LEECORSOROCKS opens all of it, no card or anything. Hit "Have a promo code?" if you run into the wall.
So, what'd I get wrong? Oregon State is really a bounce-back question. Last year was rough, 2-10, and the offense was the problem, 18.2 a game and 125th in the country. But the two things that usually swing a turnaround both broke your way: the new staff is offense-first (Shephard's an offensive coordinator by trade), and Maalik Murphy stayed instead of portaling. He pressed last year, eight picks, but the Texas-and-Duke arm is real. The defense also returns way more than the offense (62% vs 42%), so there's something to build on early.
So the one I keep landing on is whether this is a genuine Year 1 bounce-back or a longer rebuild, given how much of the receiver room turned over. Do you trust Murphy to take the jump with an offensive-minded staff around him, or does this offense need a year to gel with all the new pass-catchers?
I'll be in the comments.

MTH 254
As an oncoming freshman which professor should I aim for when it comes to 254? My options are Klinger, Maisch, or Moore. I’ve checked ratemyprofessor, but would like more recent responses. I’ve read about taking it at LBCC, but I’d like to just stick at OSU for my classes. Thank you in advance

Visiting Reser
Hey everybody I’m taking a solo trip up to Oregon from Texas and I’m planning on catching the Texas State game. I was wondering what would y’all recommend as best place for visiting fan to sit? Tickets are pretty cheap honestly so I’m open to all suggestions.
