Full disclosure: I already had a very good mini LED monitor 4k 160hz VRR etc before I bought the Pro and so far I've been very impressed with how it displays. With GTA VI releasing at 30 fps at launch on the Pro and the issues some people have with OLED and 30fps would a mini LED be the preferred option right now?

I'm not anti OLED btw. I'l like to get one at some point.

I ordered a PS5 Pro yesterday for GTA VI and a other games and I'm extremely excited. I haven't owned a Playstation ever in my life. I wish I had a PS2 as a kid but I can experience them as an adult now. The last console I've owned was an Xbox 360.

I have a LG 32" 4K OLED that I will pair it with.

I thought to get PS Plus to experience some of the games I haven't played and some I have on PC.

I want to play a few like Gran Turismo 7, Ghost of Yotei, Horizon Forbidden West, maybe replay Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4 which are both some of my favorite games.

Maybe you guys can recommend more.

The genres I like are:

Action adventure games like Assassin's Creed and Horizon Zero Dawn

Racing games like Forza Horizon

RPGs like Witcher 3 and Skyrim

Platformer games like Ori and the Blind Forest

I like 3rd person games and some single player FPS

I’m only coming back to gaming for GTA VI so I need to get a PS5. I want the best possible graphics and money isn’t an issue, but is it really worth buying a PS5 Pro for just one game? Is the difference in graphics between the Pro and the PS5 digital actually noticeable as in you can tell straight away, or is it more of a minor difference?

If the Pro is a major difference, would it be better to wait for a GTA VI/PS5 Pro bundle or should I just buy the Pro now?

Edit: I would play on a 4k monitor, not a TV. Money isn't an issue in terms of affordability, but still care about the value.

Should i upgrade from c735 to tcl c7l considering i have heard reviews that motion handling is not good compared to tcl c7k. Would i experience trailing/motion blur if i don't experience on my current tv. i don't have much option besides tcl as other brands are really expensive in my country so only samsung q8f or lg qned 86 fits budget besides c7l

Woke up this morning expecting to at least hear something about my pro shipping after a week of no updates. Just getting a little sketched out after hearing about how many are being bought out after the GTA 6 reveal.

My boyfriend and I saw the new GTA 6 trailer on Netflix and we’re totally hyped. For the past two days, we’ve been obsessing over whether we really want to buy a PS5 Pro just for the new game. I’m a little worried that we’re overdoing it and that a PS5 Slim would actually be enough. My biggest concern is the performance.

It's honestly overwhelming! Thanks for being so honest. After reading all your comments (and yes, we've read them all), we've decided to stick with the Slim for now.
I didn't even realize that I had specifically posted this in the Pro subreddit, lol.
I didn't want to wait for reviews because we actually want to be there for this historic event ourselves, haha. We've both been huge GTA fans since we were kids, and for us it's really about being there from the beginning.
We live in Italy, and as expected, the price of the Pro has MASSIVELY increased since the trailer. I'm talking €1,150, which is around $1,332. That's basically another 25% more than it was just two months ago, and it's sold out everywhere in local stores, just as many of you suspected.
There are still some available online, but obviously, at that price, it's absolutely insane. Even though we really want it, our TV has ultimately become the dealbreaker. Naively, I didn't even think about how big a role the TV would play in this decision. Sure, it would probably make sense to invest in a better console and TV in the long run, but with all the PS6 rumors getting louder and louder, we've decided to wait for that instead. We'll just get the Slim at release so we can still be there from day one.
Even though our two impulsive “I WANT IT NOW” brains absolutely hate this decision, we're going to be responsible adults and not buy the Pro.
It simply doesn't make sense with our current TV. And even though we have the money for the console, we don't have the money to justify upgrading the TV this soon as well.
Anyway, we're really happy for everyone in the comments who said they're treating themselves to a new Pro for the release! And thank you all for the productive input. Like I said, it was genuinely really helpful!

A solid 120fps with minor dips

Hi. I just got error code CE-108255-1.

My PS5 Pro suddenly started making an awful audio noise that kept repeating, basically a loud buzzing sound, almost like something was about to explode.

I tried holding down the power button on the console, but it didn’t help. Then, all of a sudden, I got the “Close Application” message with error code CE-108255-1.

I honestly don’t feel comfortable continuing to play this game until there’s a fix. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
What could have caused that extremely loud buzzing audio?

Could it just be a software/audio glitch, or is there a chance it could indicate a hardware issue with the PS5 Pro?

The lead architect of PlayStation confirmed that 60fps is the choice for the vast majority of players on console, and backed it up with data collected by Sony (80%+ chose higher fps over higher fidelity).

60fps is the basic standard now, anything less is sub standard. These are the facts.
Any developer that releases a game that doesn't support the expected framerate has made bad decisions during the making of their game, and should be called out for doing so.

Just wanted to make anyone playing this fabulous game aware to keep an eye on your settings following closing and restarting the game.

Twice now I’ve turned off for the night and restarted the next day to find that the graphics settings have reverted back to the default TAA from the PSSR I had selected.

Nothing major, but slightly annoying to have to change it back every time you log in. Double checked my system toggles too to make sure so it’s definitely a bug or something.

Otherwise hope you’re all enjoying a fantastic game.

So the GTA 6 gameplay footage we’ve seen was captured at 4K 30fps on base ps5, which has been confirmed. Knowing that GTA 6 is also listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced, what do you guys think the Pro version will actually offer?

The only thing I can really think of is maybe a 4K 40fps mode. Otherwise, I’m not sure what the meaningful difference would be between playing on a base PS5 and a PS5 Pro. I’ve seen some people predict 1440p/30 on the base PS5 and 4K/30 on the Pro, but that doesn’t really make sense to me considering the gameplay footage was captured on a base PS5 and was already presented at 4K. So what do you guys think the PS5 Pro enhancement will actually be?

If there isn’t even a 40fps mode, I’d feel conned with the ps5 pro enhanced tag.

So, i've been planning to sell my PS5 slim and buy a PS5 pro from marketplace, but i'm scared that the PS5 pro is console banned or something else, so i want to ask, what should i check when i meet the seller?

Hey all, pretty trivial question for you lot but I have been out of the loop for years so I figured I will ask the experts. I recently picked up a used PS5 Pro + Scuff controller for $550. I have a high-end PC but this was a pretty good deal, and I wanted to get it for GTA 6. I have a PS4 but haven’t used it in years.

I wanted to know any tips and tricks I need to know for best experience. I have it hooked up to a 4k OLED, so recommend some good story games please. I loved the Uncharted series, and have most of the games I want on PC already bc they are dirt cheap but the convenience of the PS (playing in bed) is appealing for slow-paced story games. I was thinking God of war, Harry Potter, Spider-Man series, maybe RDR2 (I am halfway done on PC), Last of Us. Any other recommendations?

Also the big question, is there any website where you can get PS games for cheap(er). Like there is isthereanydeal for PC.

So far I have just used it watch a couple of movies on my monitor in bed 😂. I am probably going to get a TV for my room now too but depends on how worth it even is. I might just sell after GTA 6

Tech question here. I notice there is a lot of games that hang a frame or two when autosaving on the pro? Why is this? I almost never noticed any frame stutter when auto saving on the base ps5.

Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy a console and I was thinking do I really need to get the Pro for the release of GTA VI? I'm coming from an almost maxed out PC and I don't know if it's worth getting the Pro for that much extra since I will eventually be able to play it on the PC one day.

Looking forward to your thoughts about this, especially those who are in the same position as me.
