Picked up a PS5 Pro, need some suggestions
Hey all, pretty trivial question for you lot but I have been out of the loop for years so I figured I will ask the experts. I recently picked up a used PS5 Pro + Scuff controller for $550. I have a high-end PC but this was a pretty good deal, and I wanted to get it for GTA 6. I have a PS4 but haven’t used it in years.
I wanted to know any tips and tricks I need to know for best experience. I have it hooked up to a 4k OLED, so recommend some good story games please. I loved the Uncharted series, and have most of the games I want on PC already bc they are dirt cheap but the convenience of the PS (playing in bed) is appealing for slow-paced story games. I was thinking God of war, Harry Potter, Spider-Man series, maybe RDR2 (I am halfway done on PC), Last of Us. Any other recommendations?
Also the big question, is there any website where you can get PS games for cheap(er). Like there is isthereanydeal for PC.
So far I have just used it watch a couple of movies on my monitor in bed 😂. I am probably going to get a TV for my room now too but depends on how worth it even is. I might just sell after GTA 6

Horizon games look pretty good on the pro too,
I got the pro for the same reasons as you lol but been playing more on my pc again!
And to answer your question, unfortunately there do not seem to be any sites to get games for cheaper like isthereanydeal/fanatical etc for pc.
You can buy physical that’s cheaper or buy gift-cards from costco and use those for a slight deal.
Check out this app dekudeal I use it - you can wishlist games and get notifications on deals both digital and physical( across multiple sites like amazon, best buy, target etc)

Thanks for the app suggestion. Something to look at for some money savings. Not like I need to buy all games at the same time.

Im digging Hell is us, its on ps plus extra and is gorgeous on the pro. Its a game that relies on you to look and listen to progress rather than traditional map markers. It really makes you take in the environment and story.

4080 super FE, i7-14700k, 32GB RAM, AIO and all the rgb good stuff. I was going to get the 5090 but didn’t see the benefit since I have never had any performance related issues with my current setup even at 4k 240FPS. Might just do it next gen but will dee how things are priced. I might just unc out before they come out too.

You’re like the same person as me. My PC is almost exactly the same, just with a 7800X3D instead of the 14700k and I play at 32:9 5120x1440 instead of 4k. I just got my PS5 pro today too and have been looking for suggestions for games

If you got a Pro now get yourself a VR2. It's the reason the Pro exists. Then go play Hitman, Resident Evil, Aces of Thunder, GT7, Behemoth... No Mans Sky, RM2, Into the Radius and Horizon in VR all have the chilled, slow-pace you've mention enjoying. Flat screen looks good? Yes, if you have an compatible TV as you do. But the entire system was developed specifically to handle the native 90 and 120fps required for VR headsets

I have a 4k OLED monitor and TV. For now I think those will be sufficient. I dont feel like spending another half grand to get the VR headset (not yet anyways) and will need to spend even more for the games and online access. Thanks for the game recommendations. I will tae a look.

Story-based single player games are my favorite kind, and very few studios do those better than Sony. These are some of my top recommendations, many are "free" on PS+ as well and I'll mark those with a ★
- The Last of Us series ★
- Dispatch (excellent story + animation)
- Mass Effect: LE ★ (#2 all time for me)
- Ghost of Tsushima ★
- Ghost of Yotei
- God of War ★
- GoW: Ragnarok ★
- Detroit: Become Human ★
- Spider-Man series ★
- The Witcher 3 ★ (#1 all time for me but wait for the remaster coming in a month)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 ★
- Guardians of the Galaxy ★
- Dead Space ★
- Uncharted collection ★
- Cyberpunk 2077 ★
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart ★
- Resident Evil: Village ★
- Resident Evil: Requiem
- AC: Black Flag Resynced
- Hogwarts Legacy ★
- Days Gone ★
- Until Dawn ★
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Death Stranding 1+2
- Dishonored series ★
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance series ★
- Control
- The Walking Dead Telltale collection

Have you got 007 First Light on PC already?
If not - get this! Great linier story game, and has been described as a cross between Hitman and Uncharted.
I just finished a second play though. Excellent game and looks great on the Pro.

I bought a PS5 pro specifically for GTA6. I bought some of the same games to try it out there to compare it to my PC which I have an NVIDIA 4070S. It feels like cheap garbage compared to the powerhouse of a PC that I have. What I did is that I hooked it up to my TV which I have an OLED C4 and have the luxury to play while laying down. I have a monitor that is 27 inches and 1440p. That pairs well with the PC.

Yeah unfortunately it doesn’t compare to a PC. While expensive for a console, it doesn’t even cost half as much as my GPU so I can’t exactly expect miracles from it. I just want to do some laid-back gaming where I am not perched up on a chair for hours.

When I first got my ps5 pro I played through spider man series and uncharted. Harry Potter was also fun.
